The all new buyers/sellers waiting room (continued x4) thread!

As @fromtheshires is in their new abode, and we've almost filled up the last thread - hope people don't mind me starting a new one.

My situation: waiting on survey reports before enquires/searches can start - so expect i'll be here for all 40 pages.

Hope exchanges and completions come quickly for all and no-one has the christmas 'will we won't we'.

Thanks, frustrating! We found somewhere but then they couldn't find anywhere so our buyers lost patience! It is what it is, out of our control so I can't think too much about it.

@WimbyAce so sorry, its really fustrsting when you can find anything fitting. Hopefully something will come on before Christmas and you get a new buyer!

I chased our purchase EA today and between 3pm and 5 30pm they'd called the vendor, the vendors solicitor and found out the contract is being dropped off tomorrow morning and the vendor agrees to our proposed completion date.

I have this strong feeling if I hadn't have called this same situation woul have still been ongoing into next week. L
Looks like exchange Wednesday or Thursday. Its been a hot minute and I'm so ready for this to be done.

Oh @WimbyAce that's just awful! Reading between the lines though has your buyer just found something else they'd rather go for I wonder - otherwise if you truly wanted the house you'd wait a bit right? Really hope it's lucky number 5 for you very soon (and that this delay is a good thing as your sellers can find something themselves!)

They did wait quite a while tbf so I don't blame them. Have to wait and see if our sellers will wait while we find someone else or if they put theirs back on the market.

@WimbyAce if they are fair sane people then they'll give you some time at least until they find something. Would be a bit rich if they went straight back on the market after the chain fell apart due to them!

Our vendor is no longer answering EAs phone calls....

@cheeseandcrackers40 What a nightmare! Sounds like your vendor is awful.

We relisted yesterday and have a viewing booked in so that's something. Heard from vendor's agent today and they are sticking with us for the time being (I thought they would relist straight away) so that is something too. Felt pretty deflated this morning but a bit better now. Just so frustrating starting the process again for the 4th time!!

Yeah I feel like we have the worst vendor imaginable 😂 we have said the offer expires on Friday afternoon because we just cannot stand being dicked around anymore. We are totally exhausted with it.

I cannot believe you've been trying to move since 2021 - that's awful! Fingers crossed you find another buyer soon and it all pans out xx

Don't blame you, the whole process is just mentally exhausting isn't it?

I know, it has been a long old slog! We did have a break last year as 2022 was incredibly stressful and draining - made it right to exchange when vendor pulled out. But now we are just going to keep trying as we really want to move! The fact that our youngest had just turned 1 when we started and now is at school is ridiculous!

Buyer decided that our house wasn't for them after all, & pulled out yesterday. We have another 'interested' buyer who seems to disappear for weeks at a time yet have asked if we could leave some furniture (!) they've put in an offer but have now disappeared (not for the first time) .
So jaded.

@Nextdoor55 that's rubbish! How far along were you in the process? Hopefully the second people come back and are the ones.

Thankfully not far along. But typical isn't it of people, pisses me off.

Sorry to hear so many buyers are pulling out. It happened to us twice and it's so gutting starting again but I hope the next buyer comes along quickly and is a good one.

I'm on third time lucky. First buyer pulled out after four hours, second ones after seven weeks. Top of chain are breaking it so it looks like it might actually be going to happen.

Hi all hope I’m okay to join this thread?! Feel happy to be part of it but also frustrated that I’m having to post on here.

We are currently in the process of buying and selling (chain of 4). Mortgage offer in, however just found out today after ringing and emailing everyone involved that our solicitor can’t order any searches because they haven’t received the contract pack yet?! Bear in mind this all started a month ago. Please tell me it gets easier…

Vendor knob head needs another night to think about it apparently 🙄. He obviously thinks we will give him more money if he stalls for time. We've told him our offer will not increase and expires on Friday.

Just want to know one way or another.

We’re the other end! Our solicitor sent the contract out seven weeks ago and we still haven’t had any enquiries from the buyers solicitors. Agent just keeps getting told ‘they’ll raise enquiries when searches are back.’’

Well our searches in the same area came back in a week, even the local search. So either the solicitor is just rubbish or someone isn’t telling the truth.

coupled with a glacial seller who hasn’t done anything either I sometimes think we’re in a twilight zone

Our solicitors have now received the draft contracts, searches have been applied for and enquiries will be raised 'in the coming days,' apparently. So I'm hoping we'll definitely be in by Christmas! Now I need to find a surveyor and get that done.

Hope everyone is seeing the movement they need. The market seems pretty stagnant where I am - lots of properties being reduced this week.

Welcome @iloveyoubutilovememore - I would first ask the estate agent to confirm with your sellers solicitor that the contract hasn't been sent. We thought our buyers solicitor had received the contract, and then 2 months later found out it had never made it to the solicitor, so ours had to resend.

I'm afraid it doesn't get any better, I would just say to pretend like this is your job, batter the solicitors with chasing emails, and you may just get somewhere - but not guaranteed!

Our solicitor had our buyers enquiries for a week before we were asked to provide some answers - I sent them back the same day (monday) and they STILL haven't been sent back to the buyer yet. Ugh!

Well we were hoping for October half term completion now I will just be happy to be in by Christmas.

Made an offer on a house 2 WEEKS ago, its a PITA as the seller is a business selling an asset (its a house) not a person selling their home. Was told I would find out by today if I was successful and STILL don't know.

We offered within 24 hours of it going on market, we where the first to book, view and offer and went in above asking. We where told by EA we are in an excellent position as non chain cash buyers. We where told there was 6 more bookings and 1 week after our first offer that there was another offer made and and to submit best and final... but 2 bloody weeks for an answer.

They want to exchange in 28 day but can't even answer an offer in 14 days. Nothing is ever easy.

I'll be happy if we ever get in 😬😂😂
