His Mum dropped him off last night.

A bloody cold! 😷

purplecorkheart · 24/07/2024 13:03

Bottles of wines. They were only staying overnight but brought six and some really nice home grown veg.

A bottle of wine and some chocolate truffles. They stayed 4 nights but also paid for other stuff while they were here.

AppleCream · 24/07/2024 13:06

Box of chocs

A fondue burner - we lit ours to test it (had people round for dinner) and it smelled funny, so we asked one of our guests if we could borrow theirs. Exciting, huh? I got a new one on Monday.

Blackcats7 · 24/07/2024 13:08

Chocolate. I finally found the courage to politely say that I don’t want flowers which has always been the regular gift before.
I hate flowers indoors. Love my garden but no plants or flowers inside.

CoastalCalm · 24/07/2024 13:09

wine, home made chutney and some baklava.

bert3400 · 24/07/2024 13:14

2 giant Toblerones from the airport. They are visiting us from the UK . Very much appreciated ☺️

Sadsadworld · 24/07/2024 13:16

Wine.

I hate receiving orchids!! They look so beautiful, then the flowers die and I end up nursing a green stick for ever, I can never make them flower again but feel too guilty to throw them away!

I am at my Mum's house and we have just had a visitor who works for Scottish Water whose job is to knock on doors and take samples of tap water for analysis. So that's what he brought in - endless bottles and jars for his water samples, plus a chlorine spray and a thermometer to test the temperature of the cold water. Probably a nicer visit than his next one, which is to collect a sample of waste water.

GalileoHumpkins · 24/07/2024 13:38

Boxes. We're moving and they were very much needed.

DramaAlpaca · 24/07/2024 13:38

A card, flowers and a bottle of wine because she'd missed my birthday.

LauderSyme · 24/07/2024 14:10

A bunch of orange roses and a half bottle of prosecco, from a friend who insists on spoiling me.

sophi1995 · 24/07/2024 14:13

2 bags of malteasers and a bunch of apologies about not having time to go to the shops so she just raided her kitchen cupboards! She has a small baby (as do I) so I really didn't want her going to the trouble of bringing anything!

SidekickSylvia · 24/07/2024 14:19

A friend; Flowers from the supermarket, and tomatoes from her greenhouse, for watering her garden while she was on holiday last week.
