Opinions on these curtains please

These lovely curtains are too long and unlined.

Would it be madness to buy them and try to take them up myself (no machine and limited sewing skills!) and buy and attach blackout lining? 😬

Also, what about the top slot thing - will they be a pain to open a close? I suspect these are designed for curtains that don't get so much use but these are for a bedroom and I'm desperate to make them work as they cost a fraction of made to measure! Can't find anything readymade that works for our space. 😕

Sorry, I don’t like them. They look like the striped pyjama trousers old men wear.

Charming! What a lovely comment to make….not! Do you like hurting people’s feelings?

I’ve bought ready made curtains that were the wrong size before. One pair I had shortened at an alterations place locally for about £30. The other were about 3 inches too long so I got the curtain rail put higher to the ceiling.

Lateral thinker, I like it.

I can’t believe the number of people who have replied to you. Not to answer your sensible question, but to go out of their way to say they don’t like the curtains! I do hope you haven’t taken these nasty comments to heart? Of COURSE everyone isn’t going to like them - we all have different tastes. But for people to make a real effort to get out from under their stones just to be nasty, well, I am amazed and disgusted. Do they feel good about themselves after that, I wonder?
The curtains will look lovely with a top gathering, but I am biased, never having gone for top slot curtains myself. Hope you get them up and running soon.😃

Absolutely!
OP was asking about the top of the curtains , not the curtain material itself ( Which I think looks absolutely fine)

Probably the people bitching about stripes like things that the rest of us would think were in poor taste- but it’s Ill mannered to say so.

This is Mumsnet though, where petty jealousies abound- especially if someone is excited about something

How about those who like to critique put up pics if their curtains or blinds for us to judge?!😎

I'm afraid I agree. They are horrible. Like a butchers apron.

Necessary to say that, was it? Bit unkind to burst her bubble!

I actually like them and nearly bought then but my other half said they belonged in a chalet by the sea. So I didn't.

I like a 'chalet by the sea' vibe, they'd look lovely in my bathroom, where I've tried to recreate that seaside chalet look.

It's my little happy place.

A ticking strip curtain isn’t just a seaside look. These are perfectly ok. As long as they fit the room decor. That’s all that matters!

Ticking stripe!! Autocorrect!
