I absolutely LOVE this house

I've been to this village on holiday and it's gorgeous, on a headland with sea views in all directions when you go for a walk. The wind would knock you off your feet and it rains a lot but it's so wild and gorgeous. Plus there is an excellent craft shop in the next town. So, pretty close to perfect.

I agree it is lovely inside, but there's no garden to speak of, I loathe the wind, get seasick just looking at water, and the kerb appeal leaves something to be desired, so not for me I'm afraid.

NewMe2024 · 20/06/2024 16:18

The video intro is so long I never got to the house!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/06/2024 16:20

I would usually be put off by a lack of garden, but actually think it would be ok in this location because of the view from inside the house and the excellent walking available.

I stayed four nights just along the road from this house, so similar view and it was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been to. Of course, it wasn't high season when I was there, it might be less peaceful in summer.

I didn't even notice there was a video, it doesn't add much tbh.

Oh it's gorgeous, and Sligo is a lovely part of Ireland. It's just a bit too remote for me though.

pasta · 20/06/2024 16:25

I love it OP. I'd re-decorate, but imagine living right on the water like that

RoseBucket · 20/06/2024 16:29

It’s lovely, it would be a great to restore some of the original features and a garden could be made from the space available.

zingally · 20/06/2024 16:45

It helps that it was photographed at its absolute best in terms of weather!

That being said it's got no street appeal and is a bit of a bland box on the inside. It's well done and perfectly livable, but it's got no personality, and I bet it would feel a bit sparse and cold in the winter.

Hatty65 · 20/06/2024 17:08

Awful lot of money for what looks like a pub with a car park, to be honest.

Geneticsbunny · 20/06/2024 19:36

Not my sort of thing at all. Too primpt and no character.

SingingSands · 20/06/2024 19:40

We've got family near there, it's a beautiful part of the world. Big house!

hastalav · 20/06/2024 19:55

Stunning countryside, not mad about the house lovely as it is. My partner is from Carney near Lissadel with WB Yeats connections. Ben Bulben and the drive back to Manorhamilton in Leitrim is breathtaking IMO. But of course when you have grown up there like DP did it is all just ordinary to him.

Sadly, Mullaghmore has a sad side to it too. It is where Lord Mountbatten and his grandson and grandson's friend were killed on the boat in Mullaghmore Bay along with Lady Brabourne who died next day. The Mountbattens had a holiday home in the sense of a lovely castle at Classiebawn.

Gorgeous views for sure, but that's a lot of money! Mullaghmore is nice to visit but really not a lot going on at all. I am from not far away so maybe like a PP mentioned it is a little lost on me - if I had that cash, I wouldn't buy that! Strandhill is a nicer town I would say

BresciaBike · 20/06/2024 20:16

Two showers next to each other with no barrier? I really do not need to see my partner soaping their arse crack and I don't want them watching me wash my fanny!

OneForTheToad · 20/06/2024 20:24

Bland and characterless. Just some Air BnB’r trying to get shot of it.

I think that's an area for rinsing off after you come in from the sea, so you'd be in your swimsuit. It's not a bathroom as such, more of a wet room transition area to the house.

OP posts:
Chocolately · 20/06/2024 20:29

Only the 7 bathrooms, though.

RedYellowPinkGreenPurpleOrangeBlue · 20/06/2024 20:29

No, not for me. Very bland and dull with no character. All white and boring inside. Does nothing for me at all. And 895,000 euros too!!! Shock As a pp said, it looks like a pub on a main high street. There is no front garden, and it's right on a main road near a traffic island! Would be OK for air B & B maybe. Doesn't look like a residential home to me. And it has zero kerb appeal!

Is this your house @BlackAmericanoNoSugar ??? Are you trying to sell it?

.

DejectedRejected · 20/06/2024 20:34

Too clinical and cold looking. Ok on a sunny day but how about when the clouds come in?and the rain? And the wind, and cold? Brrrrrrr depressing.

LindorDoubleChoc · 20/06/2024 20:35

The green algae on the outdoor furniture is putting me off. Not to mention the hideously decorated restaurant next door. And then there's the small matter of not being remotely tempted to live in such a location.

But good for you if you absolutely love it OP.

GodSavetheJean · 20/06/2024 20:44

I love it all!! Its gorgeous and I would move there in a minute.

Ohhhh. Tbh if I'm coming home I just shower rather than rinse off after being in the sea (I live on the coast). Well, assuming I can afford someone to dust and hoover, I like the house! I don't mind clinical, even more so in winter

ColdinNovember · 20/06/2024 20:48

The pictures look like they have been edited which makes me wonder if they are hiding something.

😂that is not what that is.

Scruffily · 20/06/2024 20:56

It's a bit white-tastic, though I suppose that can be remedied quite easily.
