Colour TV - I'm not ancient just had a dad that wasn't keen on tv so we had a tiny b&w set (he doesn't have one in the house now). I bought my first TV - a colour one!! At 19

Cats, dog and rabbits. Actually any pet - I had to give away the goldfish I won at the fair

AnnetteKurtan · 18/04/2024 22:51

Happiness
Dirty pots (not all the time but I dont have someone screaming at me to wash them the moment they are used)
An unmonitored food and drink intake
Conditioner that I am allowed to use
Enough clothes and underwear

I’m so sorry you had to go through that

PeaceOnThePorch · 18/04/2024 22:57

Lots of animals
Friends over to visit
The heating on
Posters on the wall and bean bags (well my kids did/do)
Music on loud!

pastypirate · 18/04/2024 23:39

Itv - the entire channel. And Grange Hill.

Pop music.

Clothes I'm not embarrassed of.

Zhx3 · 18/04/2024 23:44

A cat.
A dishwasher.
A tumble drier!

Instinct1 · 18/04/2024 23:47

Heating on AND windows opened

Loveshine · 18/04/2024 23:52

Dressing gowns!
My dad hated them, if you were downstairs, you needed to be dressed, not "slobbing about".

egowise · 18/04/2024 23:53

Children who are allowed to be themselves, make mistakes and be nurtured and loved.

Free access to food for all.

No arguments over meals, no forced eating of meals.

Luxury comfort in bedding and towels.

Frivolous home decor, that is just for fun.

Stuffies for all, boys, girls and adults! The more the merrier.

Posters on walls, just in frames.

Reading after bedtime.

I could go on! We have a very happy and calm home, purposely curated for all our needs. And the antithesis of my childhood.
