Tiles - please inspire me!

Hi all

Need to tile our bathroom. The whole thing needs to be tiled to cover up horrid walls but also because I think I actually like that look. The house is a generic 1960s bungalow that we are de-olding as we are in our 40s, so no particular theme to keep in with. Suite will be a fairly plain, modern white one.

DH has said firmly 'no subway tiles!' I don't know what current trends are/what people are doing...also I am already tending towards plain white but I know I want to be more adventurous than that.

Can anyone inspire me with some lovely tiles that are around at the moment please? Are there any current trends that you like?

Budget is fairly flexible - we aren't on a shoe string and happy to pay for quality.

Thanks!

We are on holiday in Spain currently and the hotel has the most amazing jazzy patterned tiles, black and white zigzags. I would love them at home. With a black tiled floor, and bright orange or pink towels.

Splashback instead?

We've just bought bathroom tiles from Boutique Stone (boutiquestone.co.uk). Not had them fitted yet as the bathroom renovation starts on Monday but the company were very easy to deal with. We went for a pale terrazzo and a green narrow tile to be laid vertically (similar to one of the bathrooms on the website).

This.

This is our bathroom. The tiles are from YourTiles....possibly a bit too jazzy for what you're looking for and I'm not sure I'd want them on the wall!

For the whole room? Does that look nice?

I love these! And your decor in general, beautiful. I'll take a look at YourTiles, thank you!

We just put these in and we love them. Originally wanted jazzy but these are contemporary and classic and work in our 1960s home

We have Attingham Seagrass from Topps tiles. They are lovely. Do they count as metro tiles? Much bigger, but that shape.

I love these but sadly I think they will be counted as 'subway' - we saw some yesterday that were large but with a bevelled edge and DH even said 'they're just big subway tiles' 😬

Hmm, maybe not the whole room unless you're doing it as a wet room but I'd have it on the walls around bath/shower at least. Looks good and easier to keep clean than tiles.

My son's having his bathroom made into large double walk in shower room and having it on every wall as mould proof, easy to clean and no grout to discolour over time. Also was cheaper as bathroom fitter told him less labour intensive than tiles. He has pale grey.

Edwardandtubbs · 17/09/2023 11:54

Well Your Tiles was a revelation!

I think we're going to go for these as we both love them - https://yourtiles.com/marseilles-green

Would like the diamond shape but I think the tiler would kill us so we'll go for the 'Festival of Britain' - esque four x four pattern.

Thanks!

I'm currently choosing bathroom wall tiles and looking for white marble effect, something like these:

Thank you @Edwardandtubbs and @Rockandrollfangirl! We're really going to miss this bathroom when we - hopefully - sell soon.

I had a similar question for nice tiles op and discovered Roycewood. Hand made tiles, lots of flexibility with colours sizss and mixes. Can order exact numbers needed. Will see if I can link an image.
