Hi all

Need to tile our bathroom. The whole thing needs to be tiled to cover up horrid walls but also because I think I actually like that look. The house is a generic 1960s bungalow that we are de-olding as we are in our 40s, so no particular theme to keep in with. Suite will be a fairly plain, modern white one.

DH has said firmly 'no subway tiles!' I don't know what current trends are/what people are doing...also I am already tending towards plain white but I know I want to be more adventurous than that.

Can anyone inspire me with some lovely tiles that are around at the moment please? Are there any current trends that you like?

Budget is fairly flexible - we aren't on a shoe string and happy to pay for quality.

Thanks!

I love these! Thank you for sharing. Especially the impression glazes. We took something similar (although commercially produced) out of the bathroom - we tried to save them but sadly the whole room needed gutting 😩. They are all still winking at me from the skip!

I like Porcelanosa. Not a brand for bright colours but beautiful, subtle and textured. Plus lots of big format. The huge advantage of these is less grout and a very streamlined look. We find Porcelanosa tiles butt up to each other with tiny grout lines which make them ideal for bathrooms.

We have recently done our family bathroom and went with something fairly plain so marble on walls and floors and a reeded tile on the bath panel. We're starting our ensure and we're going for something slightly jazzier, the floor tiles are very and May x fired earth with a delft tile splashback behind the sink and a kind of wonky edge off white tile in the shower where it needs to be fully tiled. Hope it looks nicer than my description makes out!

I took this picture of the floor of a pub toilet in Manchester a few years ago, as you do - thought it looked amazing. All different tiles mixed together.
