The things I find most intriguing are the child’s drawing in the kitchen and the three toothbrushes in the bathroom. The pillow in the middle of the bed means I have to assume that his partner sleeps on the sofa and his child in the bath 😩

I love the fact his gym equipment has gone the same way as most exercise kit and being used as a towel/clothes dryer 😂

And the kitchen airer is being used to store pans

That’s been a very common use for years. Often seen in country homes.

Really?Confused seems bizarrely inconvenient and liable to bang one's bonce.

ZadocPDederick · 10/09/2023 23:13

When he has Zoom meetings the bath must be in the background. It must be quite a talking point.

Well, they are usually hung over an island or an aga where you don’t bash your head.

There is some sort of auto filter you can turn on with any background you like. My OH does this because he never makes his bed.

Judging by the whole blandness of the place, I'd say Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen is yet to visit.

Cotswoldbee · 10/09/2023 23:54

Worked in an office once (converted manor-house) where the IT-room was an old art-deco bathroom and all the sanitaryware, wall & floor tiles, radiator etc were still in place (I was told the water supply had been isolated though).
It wasn't used as a bathroom of course but it did look odd to see this beautiful bathroom furniture surrounded with racks of computer equipment!

Is there a bag of bath salts next to the bath??

archimedesconstant · 11/09/2023 00:07

This makes me stressed

Twiglets1 · 11/09/2023 05:40

Someone had the idea of putting a bath in a bedroom like it was a boutique hotel somewhere sexy and not a flat in Eastbourne 🤷🏼‍♀️

housethatbuiltme · 11/09/2023 09:20

I was watching a referb video the other day where a builder was ripping out sinks from bedrooms (was a fad in the past apparently to have a random sink in your bedroom). I image baths are just a modern and bigger version.

Why would you want damp in the most material filled room in the house though?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2023 09:22

Short person who'd forever be having to lower it!Grin

A bathroom sink was a follow-on from having a daily wash in a basin before showers became a thing and a bath was 1 day a week

ShadowPuppets · 11/09/2023 10:03

I sort of get the bath if it was a bedroom (though not my taste) and I sort of get if you need an office it’s the most obvious room. But why on earth wouldn’t you angle the desk so the bath isn’t in the line of sight?!? (Speaking as someone who shares her office with a tumble drier and does just that)

Also to echo others, bravo on the thread title OP 😁

Naww just put it up for hand reach up hight.

Sure, it may cause (some) head trama to the tallies, but they will soon learn to duck and weave. Plus learn the importance of puting things back exactly where they belong🤷

I had a sink in my university halls room. Luxurious.

I have just returned from a week in a cottage with a bath in the bedroom.
It was useless.
There was a fabulous walk-in shower in the bathroom so what the owners were thinking I don't know.
The bedroom had no storage at all so we put our suitcase across the bath.
We would have far preferred a chest of drawers to put things away.

Actually the cottage was described as 'boutique' so that was probably why. Apart from that it was lovely.

Chickenmumsticks · 11/09/2023 10:36

My grandparents had a sink in a couple of their bedrooms. It was quite the thing to have back then 😀

ShitMermaid · 11/09/2023 11:15

I had a sink in my bedroom when I lived with my parents as a teenager. It was great for when I had one too many Mad Dog 20/20’s and needed to vom. My parents never knew about my nights of bright blue vomming.

Bluevelvetsofa · 11/09/2023 13:06

Random chair in the hall that would trip you up.
Foliage across the living room.

That is not a country kitchen that is suitable for having pots and pans hanging from the ceiling. It’s a galley kitchen and totally the wrong shape.

My family drive me mad when they splosh around like big fat hippos in the bathroom. I could never have so much water in my bedroom. It’s a no from me.

It seems your username is very apt in light of this post!
