Just for interest to see who’s been in their house for a long time.

6th September 1991 for me

16th February 2018 (and hoping to sell again asap!).

The longest we've been anywhere was ten years two months (September 1997 to November 2007). Between that and our current house we've owned three, which we lived at for three years six months, three years seven months and three years two months.

1987 (flat, though). Getting a bit too small and would like more storage and a bit of a garden, even if it's courtyard, but I love the views from my windows and it's handy for central London

Ninth of March, 2023, still really struggling to adjust, today is one of those days…

TroysMammy · 23/08/2023 13:21

1st December 1991 but I moved in April 1989. I bought my house under the Council Right to Buy scheme. I don't think I'll ever move.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 23/08/2023 13:28

My grandad signed for his house in May 1953. My mum still lives there now we grew up there and I'm mid 50's

WickedSerious · 23/08/2023 16:42

We moved into this house on the 1st of December 2003.

Hummusanddipdip · 23/08/2023 16:43

5th December 2022, but moved in to the 20th.
Plan to be here for at least 20 years until dc are grown up.

User15387500 · 23/08/2023 16:45

17th June 1996

SedentaryCat · 23/08/2023 16:50

End of May 2008. No plans to move.

EffortlessDesmond · 23/08/2023 17:18

We moved in end-March 1997, and thinking about how and where to downsize; while we love the house and the view, the location no longer works for us.

Oh great, yes, let's all share our answers to the "how long have you lived at your current address" security question often asked by banks. While you're here, what's your middle name?

I don't think people are putting the actual real date though

I know, my thoughts exactly! Shall we throw in a first pet as well?

tinytemper66 · 23/08/2023 17:39

March 10 2000

That's what I was thinking. Hmm

Damnbrsatz · 23/08/2023 17:50

My parents bought their house as newly weds in 1965 and still live there - new build detached 3 bed dormer bungalow with huge front and back gardens - on one salary. It cost £3,750 and the whole family told them they were mad to spend so much on a house.

I have never heard of this as a security question!

I’m not going to win this - we collected the keys this morning!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/08/2023 17:56

Congratulations! I recommend a take away for dinner.

2009 for this house and this is house number 5.

BlueMongoose · 23/08/2023 18:13

I would not state such a date online- that's the sort of info fraudsters trawl for.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/08/2023 18:16

1st August 2018 I think. I'd rented it for 10 years and the landlady sold it to me.

Fabvegetablegrower · 23/08/2023 18:33

24/12/1998

Mindymomo · 23/08/2023 18:38

8 June 1985, I was 24 now 62, tried moving a couple of times, but never managed it. We watched a Barry McGuigan fight in the evening.
