Where did you get your sofa

We need to get a new sofa. My husband quite likes tge look of the Freeman from CotswolCo. It was also very comfortable to sit on. But not sure how well it will last based on the handful of reviews. Where did you get your sofas from and are you happy with them?

Mine’s from ikea and I would definitely get one from there again - so much cheaper than most sofa companies, quality is just as good and washable removable covers! Your picture looks like the sofa is really deep, wouldn’t be comfortable for people without long legs?

Arighi bianchi and I love it.

MrsBlondie · 14/06/2023 22:43

Next and it's great

SweetBirdsong · 14/06/2023 22:46

From a big catalogue surplus warehouse that covered the same area as half a football pitch. 1 armchair, and a 3 seater couch, and a reclining chair. All ex catalogue obvs! Cost us £550 in total. Had them all 5 years and they're still as good as new.

Tetrad factory shop.
It is sturdy, comfortable and I will be going back there to buy my next sofa.

libraryquery · 14/06/2023 22:48

Next. They're 13 years old now so have lasted well. Although structurally sound, I'd say the cushions started looking noticeably a bit faded and misshapen a year or two ago. So they lasted a good 10 years.

JeandeServiette · 14/06/2023 22:49

We've (almost) always bought fairly cheap sofas because we have dogs. I still miss the tetrad I had 20 years ago, though. Our current sofas are all ikea, but the quality seems to have declined and the two in our lounge aren't lasting well despite being the newest.

Next time out I'm spending more. I'd love to hear if anyone has Cotswold Co sofas and how they've found them. They seem to have an advertising push on.

Oak furniture land. I absolutely love it x

minipie · 14/06/2023 22:58

Recently - one from Darlings and one from Love Your Home.

Years ago - two from Sofa Workshop and one from Sofa.com. Still going strong.

Don’t buy one you haven’t sat on in a showroom!

Peppermint81 · 14/06/2023 23:01

@SweetBirdsong ohh sounds good is there a website?

Sarahtm35 · 14/06/2023 23:03

For a charity furniture shop for £200 it’s a Laura Ashley sofa. The sofas we had before were off gumtree and cost us £60 and last 10 years. I would never spend thousands on aofas with having children and dogs.

SweetBirdsong · 14/06/2023 23:03

Hang on @Peppermint81 See if I can find it. Never used a website, as I knew about it through word of mouth. Will go look!

Loaf have some gorgeous sofas

User19844666884 · 14/06/2023 23:15

Ikea.

We looked everywhere, with a budget up to £10k, but didn’t see anything we liked as much.

And our previous sofa was Ikea and lasted for 15 years.

Joules Chesterfields from DFS in navy cotton. They have a similar look to the one in your picture.

I absolutely love them and they are so comfy to sit on (and nap on 😅)

Alba82 · 14/06/2023 23:38

IKEA, has removable washable covers & has lasted through kids, dog, cat, house rabbits...Can buy extra sets of covers to change colour etc, which I've done twice. I honestly would buy similar again 🙂

Karmatime · 14/06/2023 23:38

Got mine from a place called Sofas and Sofa Beds I think it was - 27 years ago and still going strong. I had it re-covered about 10 years ago. It was expensive at the time but has worked out an absolute bargain.

TheHandmaiden · 14/06/2023 23:39

Sofa.com

Steady and really well made

fairycupcakes · 14/06/2023 23:40

Loaf, we love it so it was well worth the cost
