>6,500 miles and 9 timezones East.

OhSmitty · 26/04/2023 18:25

Sold our small 3 bed semi on a busy B road to buy a 4 bed spacious detached on a quiet 60s estate. 5 min walk away. We'd outgrown the small semi years ago but our focus was on being mortgage free. Wfh during/ after covid changed our priorities, we needed the space for an office rather than no mortgage.

IhearyouClemFandango · 26/04/2023 18:26

A rented property about 2 miles away, for 9 months while house hunting.

Prior to that a 3 bed detached in New Forest, over the water from us.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 26/04/2023 18:26

Council flat, live in a shared ownership place now.

OldTinHat · 26/04/2023 18:27

A house 2hrs away that I'd lived in for 20 years and gave birth to youngest DC in.

Crikeyalmighty · 26/04/2023 18:33

Lovely detached 'villa' in nice bit of Copenhagen (rented)

Fandabedodgy · 26/04/2023 18:35

4 bed detached in same town.

Didn't like the layout and some of the rooms were small. Moved to a larger 4 bed.

Shintyhappypeople · 26/04/2023 18:36

A council flat 100 miles away.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 26/04/2023 18:36

I lived in England, and now I live in New England :-)

JimnJoyce · 26/04/2023 18:39

A rental 15 minutes drive away

MissLucyLiu · 26/04/2023 18:41

My flat which is now rented out 10 min cycle away

mamaduckbone · 26/04/2023 18:42

A terrace about 4 streets away. We extended into the loft but still outgrew it (was meant to be our starter home and we were there 15 years!)

londontonyc · 26/04/2023 19:17

New York 🥰

Londre · 26/04/2023 21:05

With my parents in North Worcestershire. We lived in a detached house. Glad I left. Would never return to my hometown (I loved living with my parents though)

AlltheFs · 26/04/2023 21:06

A few miles away over the county border in another village.

We’ve moved 5 times in 10 years though!

RM2013 · 26/04/2023 21:18

This is our 3rd house together. 1st was a 2 bed starter home about 4 miles from here. 2nd house was a 3 bed link detached - great big garden but tiny rooms inside house. Recently moved to our current home which is a 4 bed townhouse in same town as previous house

recklessgran · 26/04/2023 21:26

Large 4 bed, 3 baths detached with land in desirable village 5 miles away. Down sized to new village 6 years ago. Loved that house with a passion but the cost of upkeep, gardener, cleaner, bills [especially council tax] and heating was horrific. Definitely no regrets. Love it here in our dinky little house in our lovely quiet backwater.

WickedSerious · 27/04/2023 10:18

A 3 bed terrace on the other side of town

Lonelycrab · 27/04/2023 10:20

Croydon. Albeit one of the nicer bits.

Double222Trouble · 27/04/2023 12:42

Job was relocated several hundred miles away

Original property was rented out & is now up for sale

Property in second location will be for sale soon

We are moving to a third location

Ariela · 27/04/2023 12:55

My parents. I'd sold my previous house and not found one to buy. Everything was in storage, or I'd given it away. It was quite a pain, as they lived further from work so I couldn't really cycle.

good96 · 27/04/2023 15:41

In a small 1 bed flat about 20 mins from where I live now, brought it in 1988 for £16,000, sold it in 1991 for £24,500 and it sold back in 2020 for £170k - mental how prices have gone up - I certainly wouldn’t have paid 170 for it….

Justcashnosweets · 27/04/2023 16:04

A 2 bed flat in a city 50 miles away.

WateryDoom · 27/04/2023 16:06

A smaller (and ugly) 70s house ten minutes away. I much prefer my current home but my mortgage is bigger.

Qqbank01 · 27/04/2023 16:08

Rented 2 bed terraced, about 30 mins drive from where I live now.
