Straw poll, with year/part of country to pls.

We're in SE, on market for a week so far, 5 viewings, no useful feedback, I'm fed up already!

About 20 last year in central London and we had to reduce the price twice.

It was a hard sell though as high maintenance charge and post Covid, less demand for central London flats.

5 viewings

January this year, Merseyside. 1st viewer offered, completed 6 weeks later

NW - big city - affluent suburb where property prices are high and houses typically sell quickly: five viewings. Number 5 offered and we accepted; the four before that were a mixture of time wasters and people who didn’t know the market well enough and were biding their time

thelinkisdead · 26/06/2023 16:50

Sorry I forgot to add: less than one week

One. Before it even went on open market. Realise how fortunate I am, but not counting chickens just yet. Especially as my sellers have yet to find anything. Trendy small town in the Pennines.

4 or 5 in UK. 1 in France and sold within a week.

I'm in the SE. 5 viewings. Under offer from 5th, but her sale fell through. Been back on the market for a month and no interest. Dropped the price twice. It's now a total bargain, in a popular area with country parks nearby and good schools. Five months in and I'm absolutely fed up. Immaculate house with up to date fittings and excellent EPC rating. No grey!

Update: May/June got busier and after another five viewings we are back under offer. Took a ridiculously low offer, but no chain and we are buying an empty house. Got everything crossed now. SE England. Houses below £400,000 are flying now, anything above is a struggle to sell.
