It's a CASTLE silly 😂

Amazing!

It's the budget version of Dennis Severs' house Grin Honestly, this is mn gold! The very best house I've ever seen on here. I'd love to have met the owner because surely they dressed up daily to live there. I admire the medieval baby gate over the stairs with protective shield, nice touch that. With the furniture it it'd be amazing but without, you actually get to see the room sizes. It's a really nice house but being sold by auction so I bet it goes for a whole load more on sale day. That 2nd bedroom could easily be made accessable to the landing.

That Ron Gittins house - he built some amazing fireplaces!

I must admit that, often, when posters provide a link to a property , I find the post too critical and distasteful.
However, this is truly ...errrr... bizarre and the commentator makes it clear that it is in need of extensive renovation.

People can do up their homes however they like and do what takes their fancy ( I'm minded of a house we once viewed that had handmade wallpaper depicting pornographic images with a stained glass window depicting a man's genitalia!) however, to turn the external features into a mock gothic frontispiece , within a terrace, seems utterly daft.
I'm assuming that the asking price reflects the need to 'normalise' it a bit.

It's like someone bought the Medieval expansion pack on the Sims and just went mad with it.

Early win for best comment StarStarStar

Wow… speechless but you have to admire the sheer determination of someone who will fulfill their eccentric dreams so totally.

Artisticpaint · 02/03/2023 18:36

I love it

You've got to admire their determination to stay with the theme.

Bumping for the evening crowd, this one's too good to miss.

Good detective work, @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz !

Is it a terraced house or is it a church?
ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAgain · 03/03/2023 15:50

I hope some goth/ mediaevalist buys it.
Yes, wouldn't that be good, for it to go to someone who really appreciates it and carries it forward, rather than to a developer or someone else who will just rip it all out and throw it into skips?

I suspect the neighbours are hoping for the latter though, at least with the external elevations!

Kennykenkencat · 03/03/2023 16:42

They did the house how they wanted it…….

Then they needed to sell it🤦‍♀️

AlecTrevelyan006 · 03/03/2023 22:16

In need of modernisation.

I think the new owners should just bring it up from Medieval Period into The Renaissance or at a push go straight to The Reformation and Enlightenment.

purser25 · 03/03/2023 22:31

At the front it looks like there were some places for notices or whatever

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/03/2023 22:35

OMG!!! I actually viewed that house ..... about 20 years ago!! It wasn't quite so gothic then! There were some beams and some exposed brick and stone, and the "additional room" was a bedroom.

justasking111 · 03/03/2023 22:58

Our late neighbour did something like this but properly. Took him many years he was a stone mason and carpenter. The cottage also had a cockloft the children climbed to bed. He'd have had a chuckle at this
