Gold sink and tap?

Does anyone have one? I'm thinking plain white kitchen with white worktops, gold finishes and spotlights with a gold tap. What colour sink though?
I'm going to put colour on the walls and accessorise to give it some life

@RockStarship oh what! Is it under warranty still?
Good to hear about how well they last, that was my main concern... like a gold plated bangle you wear in the shower... it won't stay nice

That looks beautiful @aw98989

I'm firmly in the 'sod what's trendy, go with what you love' camp, so I'd embrace the gold if that's what makes your heart sing @HereIfYouNeedMe

We don't have gold in the kitchen - although when we did ours five years ago we did choose a very marmite articulated tap that cost £900 which makes me smile every day - but do have a gold tap from Gessi lined up ready to go in our downstairs cloakroom hopefully to be done this year.

It was purchased in 2015 so probably hopelessly dated already, but again we love it so I couldn't really care less!

Exactly, I'm very much get what I like and I'm going for white so it doesn't date so much.... a sink is a bit difficult to change up though 🤔 oh I don't know, I always get stuck on the finishes as that what makes it 'yours' hey

It looks great. If you love it have it

HereIfYouNeedMe · 23/02/2023 17:23

@Welfast okay 🤭😁 if you've had yours for a year @aw98989 has it kept nice?

@aw98989 love those wall lights - where did you buy them?

I don't think it's fair to compare 60s/70s gold handles to the modern ones, it's like apples and pears. Modern gold fixtures are usually matt gold/brushed as the older ones were bright yellow and shiny, not to mention the shapes.

Pretty much everything can be out of fashion in five years' time and, sadly, taps these days are not made to last 20 years anyway..

I agree with those that, perhaps, the sink can be a neutral white colour, whilst the golden handles and a tap will be easy to replace if needed

We went for a gold tap in our kitchen- I love the look, but we live in a hard water area and it’s already water stained a year later. I’m scared to use anything too abrasive on it, in case it tarnishes.
Im not sure what we would do if we had the chance to do it all again, as I still love the look and really don’t like chrome as much.
We matched our tap with gold cupboard knobs too, and some of them have tarnished as well. It’s frustrating! I suspect I haven’t been much help, sorry 😞

these are just pics from insta but they look great, especially if it's a traditional style kitchen.

I think the key is not to overkill, so if the handles and tap are golden, then the rest should be more neutral to equalise it.. Obviously, having gold taos, leopard sofa, sparkly worktop, neon under unit lighting and a bright red table is a no-no 😅

@Binfire no that is helpful! I'm in a hard water area too! What about lemon juice? Possibly google could suggest something
