Getting new kitchen considering the quooker tap 3 in 1. Would anyone recommend them or not?

Love ours!

anxiouspeabrain · 19/02/2023 14:59

Yes.
Do not accept any other brand. Quooker or bust!

crumpet · 19/02/2023 15:01

Yes

RNBrie · 19/02/2023 15:01

Yes 100%

We've just come back from a week of self catering and my dh admitted he really missed the Quooker and I had to agree!

We didn't bother with the carbonated water bit because I read they go wrong a lot and the replacement cannisters are expensive.

crumpet · 19/02/2023 15:02

Although mine is a 2 in one. Not interested in sparkling water (assuming that’s what the 3in 1 is)

That is my thinking anyway. I've heard some story's of it being rubbish but I think that's other brands.

Hi @catherinewales did you get the Quooksr tap? If yes how are you finding it?

whatchagonnado · 25/08/2023 05:17

Noooo! There was one in our workplace and it drove me bonkers m. Much prefer a boring old kettle. I'm also convinced the water wasn't at boiling point as the tea never quite tasted right. I'm quite fussy about my tea

Getabloominmoveon · 25/08/2023 05:46

Another emphatic Yes!

pickledandpuzzled · 25/08/2023 07:09

I don't understand how it can be environmentally more efficient than a kettle.

Perfectlystill · 25/08/2023 07:21

The ones at work are always broken.

bellac11 · 25/08/2023 07:23

They're probably better if you're a coffee drinker

SpamFrittersYouSay · 25/08/2023 07:25

Tea doesn't taste right when made with one.

Dbank · 25/08/2023 07:27

How well do they work in hard water areas, eg. south east?

AndAllOurYesterdays · 25/08/2023 07:30

We are staying in an AirBnB with one and I don't think it's hot enough to make good tea. Also I don't like the way it spits

I don't understand how it can be environmentally more efficient than a kettle.

It probably isn't, but depends on how you use your kettle (most people overfill).

If you boil the exact amount of water you need each time in the kettle then I don't think it could be more efficient. As you would be using the same amount of water but there wouldn't be the heat loss associated with the boiling water tap.

Plus kettles cost 20x less and don't really need any maintenance.

If you are looking for energy savings it is probably better to get a really energy efficient fridge than a boiling water tap. A lot cheaper too.

Coffee drinker you would have the coffee machine though.

Unless you are on instant and you can pretty much make that stuff any way you want and it will still taste bang average.

PeggyPiglet · 25/08/2023 09:53

Yes yes yes and a million more yeses

minipie · 25/08/2023 10:01

Absolutely yes.

People commenting on their work ones probably had a different brand. Quooker does go to boiling point, many other brands don’t.

C0NNIE · 25/08/2023 10:13

I’ve had a quooker boiling water tap since 2007 , used many times every day and it’s still working well.

Yorkshirelass123 · 25/08/2023 10:14

Yes love it!
If you drink carbonated water do recommend you get that option.
I have the flexible tap and it was not fitted right (didn’t retract properly)- but now resolved and it’s brilliant. 2 yrs now.

Thanks @GasPanic I'd love one but won't upgrade to something less eco efficient than the current system. And we really do boil exactly what we need, bar the occasional change of plan.

I'm a demon tea drinker and tea made with a Qooker is great. Tea made with the knock off Qooker at work is awful. Qooker holds water at boiling point.
