Getting new kitchen considering the quooker tap 3 in 1. Would anyone recommend them or not?

Love ours! We’ve had it about 15 years and it makes great tea. And I’m a fuss pot. We are in a very hard water area and the system does need cleaning. Approx every 2 years they send on request a kit at zero charge that you can use. We’ve never called maintenance.

100% recommend and a bonus point for service.

mishmased · 25/08/2023 14:41

Thanks for the replies and apologies @catherinewales for hijacking your thread. Can you get one tap for hot, boiling and drinking water or do you need two taps? Also is the drinking water filtered? We were looking to get a water filter installed in the kitchen and thought maybe the quooker might be better.

Yes! We get so impatient with kettles in holiday lets! I also use it to quickly clean a knife or baking tin that can't go in the dishwasher.

We are staying in an AirBnB with one and I don't think it's hot enough to make good tea. Also I don't like the way it spits

It shouldn't spit if it is (A) a proper Quooker and not another brand , or (B) it has been properly looked after and serviced by qualified people

Hi @catherinewales did you get the Quooksr tap? If yes how are you finding it?

So sorry only just seen this. I did get it and it's the best thing ever. I should have gone for the cube with it. Gutted I didn't understand it enough to realise I wasn't getting that part but I will add it eventually.

Wish we'd got one with the pull out hose now....

mypugstoplooking · 04/09/2023 10:55

Love my Quooker but also that you can turn on the cold water and then activate the boiling water meaning you have red hot water for washing out a pan etc. Far easier for tea making by children if they don't have to lift a kettle.

VladimirVsVolodymyr · 31/03/2024 02:16

@iwantabreakfastpantry thank you! Looking forward to getting it installed. Anyone install the sparkling water option? It is quite pricey.

whatchagonnado · 25/08/2023 05:17

Noooo! There was one in our workplace and it drove me bonkers m. Much prefer a boring old kettle. I'm also convinced the water wasn't at boiling point as the tea never quite tasted right. I'm quite fussy about my tea

That's a bit of a concern.
I have very high standards when it comes to taste and wonder if the flavour of my Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle would be detrimentally affected if the water was not hot enough.

LindaDawn · 31/03/2024 15:38

No!!! Just felt they were far too much money and concerned they would break or would scald myself.

Gettingcolder · 31/03/2024 22:36

Love mine. The real Quooker is fine for tea, it is others that don't heat the water to a high enough temperature that are an issue. I have filtered cold drinking water on mine but not sparkling.

HappiestSleeping · 01/04/2024 07:46

We have a Grohe and it's great.

DuckDuckGoosieGander · 01/04/2024 08:11

Definitely yes. We've had ours since our kitchen was done 10 years ago and couldn't survive without it. Husband very fussy about his tea and says it's great. The water is aerated so no risk of burns or scalds.

VladimirVsVolodymyr · 02/04/2024 06:18

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know, compared to filtered water how good the Quooker filter is? It does say it uses a carbon filter and nothing else (that I could find). Being able to drink from the tap is one of the reasons we're getting the Quooker so I want to make sure that the filter is good.

Spreadthehappiness · 02/04/2024 06:24

I had to read this thread because I was convinced not one single person would say no lol. I was proved wrong though . I love ours and the water comes out as boiling as ever so not sure why others are saying otherwise ( unless it’s a knock off brand )! Anyway, highly recommend them !

lapochette · 02/04/2024 06:47

Yes definitely we love our Quooker tap!

MrsJamin · 02/04/2024 06:49

We got a Qettle, it was literally half the price of a quooker! No idea why they are so expensive! The qettle is properly boiling, love an instant peppermint tea.

I think when people say they can't survive without it it is reaching peak hype.

A lot of stealth marketing going on methinks.

I expect someone to post next how it gives off an unearthly glow, like it was sent from God, and can save drowning kittens.

Scottishgirl85 · 02/04/2024 14:15

Best thing in our kitchen! Along with our larder cupboard which contains microwave, coffee machine etc. Absolutely recommend Quooker 3in1! Don't go for cheaper brand, they're not as hot. We fill a pan with quooker water, and on hob it is instantly boiling. Life changing for busy families!

MrsJamin · 02/04/2024 16:19

Qettle is 100 degrees, just as hot as quooker. Currently £706.50 for the Signature Modern (4 types of water) with an easter discount. We specc'ed up Quooker and it was nearly £2k!

QETTLE Boiling Water Tap, True 100C Boiling, Filtered Cold Water, Regular Hot & Cold

VladimirVsVolodymyr · 06/04/2024 00:10

@user44456b thanks for that. Afaik our water pressure is very good.
@MrsJamin the cost for Quettle and Quooker here (Ireland) are similar. Probably one or two hundred euros difference.

Yes. I’ve drunk a lot of tea made with Quookers when I lived in a village where they were a key status symbol, and I never thought it tasted quite right. But the owners were always so enthusiastic, it would have felt mean to say so.
