Am I the only one to think this is freaky?

I've been looking at house listings or some time, but have never seen one where the estate agent appears to have crept round & 'strategically placed' their logo'd merch all over the house. Does anyone else think this is weird/ a bit freaky, and would put them off buying?

I'd guess the estate agent owns the property?

That’s what I thought. Otherwise it’s very unprofessional.

MrsMAgain · 26/10/2022 22:14

How tacky.

Prettypennies · 26/10/2022 22:37

Hahaha the bathmat. So ugly and distracting!

cimena · 26/10/2022 23:36

they definitely thought this was a genius idea, bless them

Gingernaut · 26/10/2022 23:44

I'm loving they way they highlighted which house they're selling in the first photo 🤣🤣🤣

Bigslippers · 26/10/2022 23:51

I am laughing out loud. It was the bathmat that totally finished me 🤣

Also reminds me of Sixth Sense and the part where the RED CLUES were shown at the end ..👻

EndlessMagpies · 26/10/2022 23:52

It is so distracting that you barely notice the house itself. I've just looked at all the photos and the only one I remember is the garden. And that was because it was the only place that didn't have any red in it. Can't remember the other rooms at all.

Blossomandbee · 26/10/2022 23:55

How weird!
There seems to be more appearing in each picture as you scroll through. It reminds me of IT the clown when a red balloon appears before he does.

Redup · 26/10/2022 23:55

Hilarious.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 27/10/2022 02:53

I see on their website, under 'About Us' and 'Meet the Team' there are three in 'the team' and they are all Managing Directors!

Ylvamoon · 27/10/2022 03:02

The cups in the 2nd picture.... words fail me!

TeachesOfPeaches · 27/10/2022 03:09

I've noticed quite a few listings have photoshopped furniture in them. Looks bloody bizarre

Popvan · 27/10/2022 06:10

Aw someone's learned how to use Photoshop.
Next week smellivision where you can get the waft of the Estate Agents Lynx.

garlictwist · 27/10/2022 06:17

Our local agent does it too

www.nicholashumphreys.com/canterbury-estate-agents/meet-our-team/

None of them has estate agency experience, though all have renovated houses. A fledging business so good luck to them, but maybe burn the cushions!

Like @Siepie I don't live anywhere near Canterbury but do know that estate agent, they have been around for years. The people might be new but the agency isnt

I don't get why it would put anyone off buying a house, no one thinks you have to agree to live with the merch do they 😜

"Buy this lovely bright house in this dreary street" Grin

NashvilleQueen · 27/10/2022 06:33

I'm guessing the vendor gets a discount on EA fees in return for product placement.

Blablablaaaaa · 27/10/2022 06:49

It’s so badly done, doesn’t suit the style of the house

RambamThankyouMam · 27/10/2022 07:53

It makes no sense! Why would the estate agent need to advertise to people who are already looking at their listing??

Eweknowwhat · 27/10/2022 07:58

Haven't they ever heard the expression 'less is more'?

That sort of overkill would put me right off.

Arghh1234 · 27/10/2022 08:15

Too distracting, didn’t even notice the house. I think a bit of sick came into my mouth too 🤢

SpidersAreShitheads · 27/10/2022 08:36

Red and yellow.....where have I seen that colour combination in branding before?? Can't think....

In other news, I quite fancy a McDonalds breakfast now. Not sure why I suddenly thought of that.....??

Oh. Wait....

WilsonandNoodles · 27/10/2022 08:41

Its definitely just a house share that had nobody living in it at the time. Why else would you have no smoking signs up. They have tried to make an empty house looked lived in and even with the red overkill its probably more likely to sell than photos of multiple peoples personal things.

Mapleapple · 27/10/2022 08:43

A lot of uni students live on that road OP, I’d be careful about buying there if it’s for a family home.

SilentBob · 27/10/2022 08:49

I saw the first H and thought 'ohhhhh, it's a holiday inn!' Why that seemed logical to me I have no idea.
