Their home, their personality, but maybe they should consider a declutter? 😆

Jesus that’s judgemental! Looks fine enough, no real decor disasters and it’s not slightly the most cluttered house I’ve seen. If that’s the worst house you’ve seen on your property search I’d imagine you’ve seen very few houses yet.

SweetPetrichor · 19/10/2022 13:49

I love it, that’s screams ‘home’ to me! When someone has stamped some personality on a place it seems so much nicer.

MothershipG · 19/10/2022 13:51

Like I said, their home up to them how they decorate, but a naked female mannequin with a hat & sticks that look like horns is quite a statement piece.

Presumably they want to sell their house and you'd be surprised by how many potential buyers can't see past coloured walls, never mind something quite so distinctive.

Meanwhile I am not judging, just being enjoying it.

Gosh you should see my house if you think that's cluttered. Personally I prefer all the clutter to a white/grey house with no ornaments or personality. It's a good job we are all different.

Dfg15 · 19/10/2022 13:53

Its their home, the stuff doesnt stop anyone from seeing what the house is like and it'll be gone when they move out. I really dont see it as a problem.

JaninaDuszejko · 19/10/2022 13:53

It's the (naked) manequin in the top hat on picture 4 &13 that I was sueprised by.

HollywoodTease · 19/10/2022 13:54

My only concern is for the fishtank on the bedroom windowsill - hope the sun doesn't fry the fish!

ofwarren · 19/10/2022 13:56

I think it's fine.
All the bits and bobs will be taken with them when they move. The house is quite neutral really.

EndlessMagpies · 19/10/2022 14:36

I like it, it looks really homely and cosy.

This! With bound hands as well. It's even more of a surprise given the rest of the house is so normal.

Is everyone missing it, or do you all have one?

Strawberrybelli · 19/10/2022 19:54

Hands up if you clocked the dinosaur tank?Grin

Purpleavocado · 19/10/2022 19:56

It looks cosy! The mannequin is a bit odd though.

BlueMongoose · 19/10/2022 21:02

You ought to have seen our old place if that freaks you out. Not just the clutter, which made it look like Auntie Wainwright's, but I even had a real animal skull on a shelf. Here, we have a bit more space, so a tad less cluttered, at least when things aren't in crates again for work to be done, but it still looks like a local library and you'd also have to cope with large drawings/prints of people with no drawers on.😆

WMA · 19/10/2022 21:05

They're obviously moving because they need more space. It seems clean and fairly organized, but if they want to sell, they should put some stuff in storage so that potential buyers can see what they're buying.

ohfook · 19/10/2022 21:08

Oh wow I love that house especially the garden and that staircase. What a fab find.

Hillrunning · 19/10/2022 21:10

Well you are being judgmental. The title and first post are really mean, you are just trying to back track as people aren't joining in with you.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 19/10/2022 21:12

Just looks like the home of a creative family to me. I've seen far more unusual.

PurplePeaks · 19/10/2022 21:13

I think you have attracted a contrary lot of replies here OP. I agree with you, it's awful. Also short-sighted. Buyers may well have the vision to mentally declutter and depersonalise - but if you want to sell your house in a declining market - then why take that risk?

SoupDragon · 19/10/2022 21:16

Of course you are judging. Your title says it all.

I like people like you!

it narrows down the competition!!

StopDrivingIntoMyFence · 19/10/2022 21:38

It makes me feel itchy.

Amusing to see all the posts saying it's fine. If you had put up that link and asked "Why are we getting no viewings?" You would have had many replies saying it was because of the clutter. Some of those replies would have been from people on this thread!

dudsville · 19/10/2022 21:44

It's not a show home, and they're clearly a family, so they're presumably busy. Not everyone can put up pristine pics, nor should they have to. You're buying the house, not their stuff. It looks like a lovely family home.

2ManyPjs · 19/10/2022 21:49

No accounting for taste? Yes it's cluttered but I love their home. Bet they're a cracking laugh too.

Shmithecat2 · 19/10/2022 21:52

I prefer that to 50 shades of grey and chopped cushions.

But the vendors aren't asking, maybe they've had lots of interest.
