Their home, their personality, but maybe they should consider a declutter? 😆

That's my friends house
I'll let her know it's been put on here 🙂

But the vendors aren't asking, maybe they've had lots of interest.

Maybe they have.

I prefer that to 50 shades of grey and chopped cushions.

Completely agree, it’s clearly a well loved family home and I think it looks lovely!

Anyone who can’t see past decor or a bit of clutter when they’re buying a house is bonkers imo.

NightNite · 19/10/2022 22:20

I think the OP is the vendor using reverse psychology to drum up viewings.
Cunning!

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 19/10/2022 23:09

Well I think it’s hideous. It’s messy and chaotic and I couldn’t even be bothered trying to look beyond all the tat.

OhSunnyMorning · 19/10/2022 23:55

I really like the decor. Conservatories are the room of the antichrist however.

If I was looking in that area with that budget I’d go and see it!

I think it’s really weird when people can’t see past other peoples furniture & things in a house, more fool them - you can’t expect a house that belongs to someone else to be entirely to your taste.

Can you let her know her garden is lovely please.
I don't have a spare £700k or live near Brentford, but if I did I'd certainly be interested!

Can you ask her why she has a naked horned satanic S&M tit mannequin? (And yes, agree it's a lovely garden)

rwalker · 20/10/2022 15:17

No for me and nothing jumps out

but if your trying to sell your house it’s really isn’t showing it at it’s best

DiddlyDoris · 20/10/2022 15:19

I like it

Hands up if you clocked the dinosaur tank?Grin

I did! Do you think something lives in it other than plastic dinosaurs?

RatherBeRiding · 20/10/2022 16:46

It wouldn't put me off viewing, because clutter isn't part of the house purchase, but it does make it harder to get a sense of the bare bones of the place. However, it looks clean and well maintained and the garden has great potential so if I was interested I'd go to see it.

It's not difficult to look past clutter when viewing houses. The decor is definitely not to my taste but underneath it looks neutral and unobjectionable.

crispinglovershighkick · 20/10/2022 18:13

There are relatively few four beds in the area, it's mostly flats and two up/down, so they shouldn't have any problem selling.
I think it looks nice, kind of typical for a certain kind of Brentford family home.

Sarahemmabrown · 20/10/2022 19:12

Show us some pictures of your house, OP

SpidersAreShitheads · 21/10/2022 02:40

I actually really love this house and tbh, it's a welcome relief to see a house that a family clearly lives in while trying to sell. On the whole, the house is tidy but just has personal effects on display. Nothing wrong with that and I kind of admire the fact they've done this. We're about to sell ours and I'm having absolute KITTENS because I don't have the space to put things away, and I don't have spare money for storage!

I understand that clutter-free and sparse rooms attract more buyers but bloody hell, it's a ridiculously high standard to achieve that feels impossible when you've got a small home and kids living in it!

I cheer when I see other properties on the market which are clearly lived in by humans and not a group of sterile cyber-people. This is an adorable house and I hope it gets snapped up quickly.

MrsMorrisey · 21/10/2022 02:46

Nicer than mine.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 21/10/2022 02:53

It's too bad they painted the stairs like that.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 21/10/2022 03:00

I like it. Personally, I couldn't live with clutter like that, but it doesn't bother me in other people's homes. I can see past that to the house underneath. It wouldn't put me off viewing, although it might make me question if there's enough storage.

I agree that the mannequin is weird though

FlowerArranger · 21/10/2022 03:25

It appeals to me, even though it is very cluttered. The owners seem to be arty/creative. If there was more space, their treasures could shine!

What I would find difficult though, is the fact that there is only one bathroom. Not even a downstairs loo.

Ponderingwindow · 21/10/2022 03:28

I just wish the photo had provided a better look at the headpiece. Seems to me that the mannequin in 5 is just a vehicle for displaying the interesting headpiece. It’s always hard to figure out how to showcase that sort of thing

Mercurial123 · 21/10/2022 04:28

Anyone who can't see beyond decoration has no imagination and should just buy a new build with zero character. I like the house.

Moro93 · 21/10/2022 04:34

I really like it, very artsy and eclectic. I'm not a fan of overly modern, minimalist houses. They seem cold and don't have any personality.

TweetnDour · 21/10/2022 05:58

I like the glass on wine with some leftover red wine in the child's room.
I mean, the house will need redecorating, new kitchen, floors, bathroom but the bones of it are good. The price is ok too.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 21/10/2022 06:11

The curtains in picture 19 look like someone is hiding behind them 😁

Normally, photos on the wall with people's faces in them are blurred out by the estate agent, and that hasn't been done here.

I'd not want to dust all that, but I've always been okay at just being able to look at a house, rather than the seller's 'stuff'. It's not to my personal taste though.
