Anywhere with 3/4 bed houses under £230K in England/Wales?

(name changed)

Can anyone recommend a nice area anywhere in Wales or England - no more north than Leeds on a map - which have houses (with garden and parking) up for sale for 230K or less?

Ideally with good schools in the area and some green spaces/parks close enough to walk to.

I should also mention, not in the middle of nowhere! I.e, in or within 15 minutes drive of a town which has supermarkets, coffee shops etc.

There’s loads around here.

West Wiltshire.

SupposeItDoesnt · 09/10/2022 18:39

Lots here, north Nottinghamshire

Some of the less popular areas of Manchester I'd imagine. Or any big northern city if you don't mind not being in the naice parts.

Albgo · 09/10/2022 18:40

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon can you recommend any towns?

Sefton/North Liverpool top end of the budget but fit all the requirements

A quick search on Rightmove of an area within 5 miles of where I live in South Yorkshire returned 147 results.

Sunbird24 · 09/10/2022 18:44

Loads in Lincolnshire too

dinnertonightt · 09/10/2022 18:48

Leicestershire.

Lots in South Yorkshire. Try searching around Aston, Swallownest or Aughton (or anywhere within a few miles of there but these are all well-connected to Sheffield and by road - very near the M1).

This is pretty much what I was going to say. And it's not bad where @RampantIvy and I live.

Newcastle under Lyme

Southend on Sea comes up on rightmove. If you wanted a real do me upper in a non desirable place then you could look in Kent. Rough as a rats arse Chatham but if you know the area you could get one just onnthe wrong side of the road from Rochester which is nice.

NellesVilla · 09/10/2022 18:51

Wow- you can’t get a decent 1 bed flat for that in my neck of the woods!!

Mattsmum2 · 09/10/2022 18:53

West Wales. Parts of Pembrokeshire are lovely and cheaper.

StillNotWarm · 09/10/2022 18:54

An hour north of Leeds, but you can have all the rest of that near me and some change potentially. How flexible are you on distance north?
Nice bit of Teesside.

DrNo007 · 09/10/2022 18:56

Skelmersdale. There are nice areas and not so nice areas. Choose carefully and it is a good place to live with a few good schools in the area (also some bad schools).

loveislouderthanwar · 09/10/2022 18:57

West Midlands as a hole really.

loveislouderthanwar · 09/10/2022 18:58

*whole

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/10/2022 18:58

This is on the border of S/W Yorks and is in catchment for a very good three tier school system (first (yR-Y5), middle (y6-y8) and high (y9-y11)) system, where every school is Good or Outstanding. It's village centre, with countryside around. Market towns - Penistone and Holmfirth about 20 mins drive away, bigger towns Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley 20-30 mins and Leeds and Sheffield an hour or so commutes, often less, seldom more. Manchester is commutable at a push, and Manc airport is an hour with light traffic.

That's not very nice!

I suspect you mean whole??

@Heyho321

not even a 2bdrm here. Maybe a run down studio flat.

I need a bigger place & want a bigger garden, off road parking, but can't afford that on my one wage here, if I move away I can't get a mortgage. 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️
