I just came across this. I've told DH we need to buy it. I've always wanted a tower.

Even more surprising is the listing doesn't seem to mention it as a feature. Nothing at all alluding to it.

I want to know what is on the back of next door!

Appears to be like balcony things with sides matching the tower. One of the photos shows a bit of them. I bet they're jealous of the tower.

Very odd the listing makes no reference to what is very clearly a two storey tower! How random on such an otherwise rather dull semi.

I think it was built with the tower. The description says 'semi' but it is actually the end of a terrace of four. The other three have the odd balconies and looks like there is another house with a similar tower. It is a more interesting development than the photos suggest.

I looked it up on google maps - one of the others on that development has a bigger tower - with much better views too. Alas the one in the link, not so brilliant. The whole estate is a concrete jungle of parking spaces too.

That’s really odd. It’s not far from me, I guess they can sit in their tower and watch the DFDS ferries going past!

I must start looking on Zooplankton, they always seem to have the odd properties which don’t come up on Rightmove.

One of my friends lives in that development, she calls her house a Moomin house. Lots of the houses have the tower. They're lovely homes.

I absolutely love it! All the practical benefits of a modern semi, a tower for your inner child, and no oubliette to maintain. It was definitely built that way.

You should buy it and re-enact Rapunzel for your neighbours.

I love it. Obviously there so a romantic hero can take a break from the kids and stand and watch for his ferry captain love to come back from the sea.

It's in South Shields, maybe the tower reflects the maritime heritage of the area?

That whole area is depressing. Is there a local by-law against having a garden?
