What is the strangest thing you have come across during a house move that has either been left or taken?

Our friends completeted last year and the woman they bought from took the ring squat of vinyl in the downstairs toilet along with the toilet seats - she didn't leave any other toilet seats just completely left the loos bare... I found it so odd so wondered what was the strangest thing you found taken or were left?

@Twiglets1 GrinGrin

We have moved from there now but we did look at them strangely for whole time we lived there.

@SilentHedges it was the first time any of my team of 5 had seen one listed. We do title checking for at a conveyancing firm so we see lots of forms.

Your context makes more sense now. Someone else from conveyancing will see a form from me one day, "2x Hedgehog Houses, plus occupants".

We bought a house in France
They took literally everything , all the light bulbs but also the plastic fitting bits
Toilet seats, loo roll holders
Even cut the hob out of the work top.
It wasn't even like they would be of use, it was a family selling after parents death so not taking to new house
Bizarre
Was fun going to the loo with no loo seat in pitch dark !

And it will be happily shown to their colleagues @SilentHedges 😄

We were left a enamel 50's side board kitchen cupboard which has been in the garage for the 8 years we lived here. I moved it last week to find it had a drawer full of really nice old vintage tins in it. Oh and garden ornament cat, it's eyes light up in the dark when light shines on it, like street cats eyes. Freaks me out sometimes!

The one thing we were left in our present home was a lovely Welcome to your New Home card.

House I moved into had a moth eaten tailers dummy in the attic - really creepy

We were left some random stuff in the loft which we skipped.
But they also left us a really lovely mirror which we still have now. The family before us lived here for decades and I knew it had been a happy home, even before someone that knew them confirmed it. Just had such a lovely feel from the moment I stepped in.

We moved 2 weeks ago. They left behind all of the tester pots of paint used in the house I guess when they were deciding on colours...

Paint needs to be specially disposed of at the tip so I imagine they thought it would be easier for you to do that for them!

That said we had a corner of the garage with old paint tins when we moved in so it was easy to colour match when we had the windows replaced and had to repaint the window surround.
