I know everyone's circumstances are different and we all live in different areas just wondering what your interest rate is if you've changed your mortgage/fixed/ new mortgage or even if you've been fixed for a while?
We are looking to buy we have 20% deposit and ours is looking at around 5% fixed for 5 years in the north east.

We fixed 18 months ago for 5 years. at a Rate of 2.79%

Lucky we bought when we did I think.. (It's never happened before, we got completely stung in 2007)

Golfwithfriends · 26/08/2022 17:22

I fixed this week at 3.64% for 5 years but have a much bigger loan to value than you so could access the better rates. Our previous rate was 2.99% as a first time buyer. 5% sounds quite high to me!

Thank you for your response. We are borrowing around £280,000 5% seemed quite high to us too. Maybe we should shop around a bit more with different mortgage advisors

2.09 almost two years ago. Deal nearly up and looking at 3.65 now. Not happy!

felulageller · 26/08/2022 17:43

1.29. Wish it was for 5 years though not 2. Not FTB.

Asdf12345 · 26/08/2022 19:07

Fixed at 1.69% about two and a half years ago for a five year fix.

MoodyTwo · 26/08/2022 19:21

2.99 for 10 years last February

user1487194234 · 26/08/2022 19:23

1.25 fixed for 5 years

delilahhey · 26/08/2022 19:23

0.99% fixed for a couple more years, mortgage amount £420k which was 85% LTV

PurBal · 26/08/2022 19:24

We fixed 2 years ago at 1.89% 5 year. We ported our mortgage to another property and have a top up mortgage which is at 2.3%. LTV is about 78%.

DappledOliveGroves · 26/08/2022 19:29

We're paying 1.19% fixed for five years - the rate expires at the start of 2027.

Canttouchthis88 · 26/08/2022 19:31

I fixed for 3 years in December 2021 for 0.99%

AnuSTart · 26/08/2022 19:35

1.7 for 5 years, this January. I am so thankful I picked the 5 year option when getting a new deal!!!

moonlight1705 · 26/08/2022 19:39

1.38% fixed for a 5 year term (4 to go) but we own 70% of the house now.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 26/08/2022 19:42

2.99 fixed for 5 years in February. Low LTV under 50%.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 26/08/2022 19:42

Should read 1.99 not 2.99

03X · 26/08/2022 19:43

Ported the mortgage last year. Fixed for 5 years.

1 = 1.49% ends March 2026
1 = 1.63% ends August 2026

Feel very lucky to have low rates so dreading what they’ll be in 2026! Trying to overpay as much as possible now where we can.

bellsbuss · 26/08/2022 20:02

1.29 for 5 years fixed , 4 years left on deal. Dread to think what they will be then

icelollycraving · 26/08/2022 20:43

Im just looking at our mortgage, wish I’d sorted it before. Would you go for 3 or 5 years fixed rate at this point?

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 26/08/2022 20:46

Fixed two months ago. 10 year fix at 2.48%. No plans to move, so I'm very glad we did that now!

BlueisthenewGrey · 26/08/2022 20:53

Fixed in Feb on a 10 year term at 1.99 with a 60% LTV. Cost us 1.5k to leave our fix which was due to end Sept. Best 1.5k we have spent in a while.

5% seems a lot even right now.

JasmineIndigo · 26/08/2022 21:19

We fixed for 5 years in October last year at 1.19% - we feel very fortunate!

wonderstuff · 26/08/2022 21:27

Fixed in Jan for 5 years at 1.09% [smug] planning to put money we’d normally use to overpay into a S&S ISA hoping that will out perform the mortgage, it’s currently not, but I live in hope.
