I know everyone's circumstances are different and we all live in different areas just wondering what your interest rate is if you've changed your mortgage/fixed/ new mortgage or even if you've been fixed for a while?
We are looking to buy we have 20% deposit and ours is looking at around 5% fixed for 5 years in the north east.

1.4 for five years 14 months ago.

LilacPoppy · 31/08/2022 03:46

Zero fees.

1.69 fixed for 5 years. Expires early 2027. Had to pay two grand to leave other fixed deal early, but v glad I did. I thought Brexit would make interest rates rise, but didn’t know then about global COL crisis.

Fixed in May at 1.89% for 5 years

hattie43 · 31/08/2022 05:31

Mine is 3% and I haven't fixed as it's not a scary amount and I intend to overpay it now .

DIanaRiggFan · 31/08/2022 10:39

@RudsyFarmer was earlier this year when we fixed - I think we applied last Dec or Jan (can’t remember) but missed out on 1.14% by about a week which was annoying

we are 58% LTV

RudsyFarmer · 31/08/2022 10:44

Ah I get you. Best we can find at the moment is around 3%. You didn’t well!!!

RudsyFarmer · 31/08/2022 10:44

*did well

We finish our 5 year 1.9% fixed rate this month but we were able to fix a mortgage in April to start at the end of September so it’s 2.1%. Price is rising as we’re taking is down by a couple of years.

IhateJan22 · 31/08/2022 18:39

Rates are rising everyday. Our renewal is 3.75% but we intend to overpay as much as possible. It’s scary times at the moment but we are fortunate we will manage.

DeadHouseBounce · 06/09/2022 21:12

Scary times? Only because house prices were allowed to form into a MASSIVE bubble, 3-4% on a mortgage is peanuts.
