do people spending £9m on a house really look on rightmove?

Saw this today. I can't imagine people with that sort of money scouring RM. Surely they just have a buyer/agent who touches bases regularly with all the agents that sell this type of house.
If this was your house, why would you want the world to see it either as the vendor or a potential buyer?

That’s the price tag that rules out most locals regardless of where it is. I think they’re less interested in location as setting - easy to say when they won’t use the local schools, transport etc. So yes I think potential buyers or their staff may use such websites.
Sadly I don’t think this from experience!

NewHouseNewMe · 22/06/2022 21:43

The house is beautiful and well styled.

FlowersFlowersEverywhere · 22/06/2022 21:47

I don’t know but if I win the lottery next week I’d probably put an offer in 🤪 although the staircases are not as grand as I’d hope for for that kind of money 🤔

ClarissaD · 22/06/2022 21:49

That is a lovely house.

Itsmemaggie · 22/06/2022 21:50

That’s a beautiful house, but I know what you mean!

User3568975431146 · 22/06/2022 21:52

Sure do! My fiend is looking at £7-8 million houses just now and right move is her first go to every lunchtime 🙂

Crikeyalmighty · 22/06/2022 21:53

It's a very lovely location that I know well. I think they do though- I've seen a few top end estates on right move

BruceAndNosh · 22/06/2022 21:54

I had my chequebook out ready to buy it when I saw the very last picture.
It's called CONKWELL Grange.
Couldn't live in a house called that.
Shame

ClarissaD · 22/06/2022 21:55

I love the name - made me smile.

WinterDeWinter · 22/06/2022 21:56

It's a beautiful house but it looks like it's been decorated by Next. It's neutral /boring in a way that the old skool posho way of doing things ie World of Interiors circa 1983/colefax and fowler somehow never was. I think it's really hard to self-consciously modernise the decoration of those old houses - it's got to be organic and over time..

Wallabyone · 22/06/2022 21:58

Love that house- the grounds are beautiful!

ShirleyPhallus · 22/06/2022 21:58

So awkward but that’s my house, thanks for all the compliments! It’s a little small for us so looking to move somewhere that has a bit more room and ideally a moat.

Its published on rightmove for bragging rights really

Beachsidesunset · 22/06/2022 22:04

I used to live a couple of miles from this. Last time it went up for sale it was on Rightmove. I always imagined the Queen browsing it!

Sorry i know i sound like a wanker but I'm really interested in posho decor and all the signifiers Grin

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 22/06/2022 22:12

Wow that’s beautiful.

It costs them to put it on rightmove so it must work for them. It’s also good advertising for other people who might want to sell their £8m house and will need an agent. Plus possibly overseas buyers?

If I’d won the euro millions last night…

Weefreetiffany · 22/06/2022 22:13

Lol love the name. But the upkeep on that kind of property must be £££££

9mil up front would be just the start

Weefreetiffany · 22/06/2022 22:15

And to add, I would be worried if I were the owner and the agent had put it on right move. Means they don’t have a select pool of buyers in that price range ready and waiting and so are trying to drum up click and interest. Not a great start and not how that price bracket should operate tbh

tobee · 22/06/2022 22:18

Side point but don't you always think when they have cinema rooms decked out like that you'd just snooze through every movie/series binge you saw?

tobee · 22/06/2022 22:19

Does it get "put on Rightmove"? Or do Rightmove just hoover up everything that comes on the market?

fyn · 22/06/2022 22:22

Lots of people who buy these houses have agents that do the searching - they look on rightmove etc… to find them and then present the ones that suit!

tokyotea · 22/06/2022 22:22

Oh that is so very nice. I agree though, those stairs look really misplaced in such a grand house lol

Ikeameatballs · 22/06/2022 22:22

It’s aspirational advertising for the estate agent surely! It makes Knight Frank look good.

Trainfromredhill · 22/06/2022 22:42

@tobee an estate agent has to ask that a property goes on RM. We have just bought one that didn’t.(and it wasn’t £9m)

9m? That's peanuts! I was browsing this today:

LemonSwan · 23/06/2022 00:35

first house is my perfect home. Just right.

Second way too big.

Third is hideous

I sound like Goldilocks 🤣
