We are being outpriced from the lovely arty seaside town where we live. Can anyone suggest somewhere bohemian and lovely where you can get decent sized 3 bed house with garden under £325k?

Nantwich. Lovely, vibrant town.

I checked on Rightmove first -- like all these areas, lots in that budget - hence why I wondered where you live!

Norwich. Not sure I'd describe it as 'lovely' but it has a lot going for it.

You want to live in Belper.

Yes Belper fits the bill

These "no Tories" suggestions always amuse me. It rather limits you to Chorley or Northern Ireland.

Same, especially when they also quote they are looking for a 'diverse area' but obviously only within their own idea of PLU!

ChicCroissant · 02/05/2022 22:36

I also think Stroud might fit your criteria, although not sure about the house prices there.

CoffeethenCrochet · 02/05/2022 22:41

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/115178837

Come to Cardiff - fab city, lots of parks, indie shops, musuem, art gallery etc.

CrapBucket · 02/05/2022 22:42

Dundee? Has a V&A, loads of sunshine, and cheap houses.

Rochester - lovely high street, just had The Sweeps festival all weekend

Deal - lovely, small coastal town

Broadstairs - sandy, beach town,

Margate - up and coming, although still a little rough around the edges

Some Kent suggestions

Not any more. Now out of the OP's price range

APurpleSquirrel · 02/05/2022 23:13

I'm surprised no-ones said Frome - certainly meets the arty/crafty vibe with festivals & culture etc.
tbh as another PP says up thread you can get most of want you want anywhere as long as you're happy to travel a bit, but to get everything in one place you'd need to look at cities or large towns, which often mean smaller gardens.

Malvern?

I'd second this.

charliewoods · 02/05/2022 23:16

Saltaire definitely ticks all of your boxes!

MissBattleaxe · 02/05/2022 23:18

Some great suggestions here. Except for Merthyr Tydfil.

We're Liverpool (south towards the airport). Not immediately on the coast but close to work, parks, motorway, schools etc etc but we paid £315k last summer for a house with no heating or bath. Good luck!
