Just that really! Somewhere between grey and beige? I’ve got paralysis by analysis so need some outside opinions! Thanks

@fernyflax

I have pebble shore by dulux. A lovely warm greige.
Me too. Really noticed the difference in warmth versus some of the cooler neutrals and greys.

We've got dulux tTimeless, Egyptian Cotton and Natural Hessian in different rooms. It depends on the tone amd level of warmth you're hoping for.

My dad is a decorator and his advice would be to paint runs of lining paper and pin them up in direct walls and different times of day to see hownit reacts woth the natural light amd shadows through the day. Paint lining paper rather than walls so you can move it around and also don't have to paint over those patches.

Dulux almond white in bedrooms, pure brilliant white in hall and kitchen.

That's a lovely colour - looks great!

Our previous and this house is painted in Crown Ivory Cream, which is a pale but warm neutral colour.

Fifiesta · 10/01/2022 15:59

If I could only use one colour only is would be Valspar Coronation gown.
It is the palest yellow, and in some rooms almost a light green/yellow (like a pale wild primrose). It always looks fresh and clean, and reflects light around really well.

I have F&B Ammonite currently, which has been great for many years as it’s nearly white and not a cold grey. It really changes with the light, so I suppose how it will look really depends on your space. I am thinking of redecorating in F&B Pointing or another warm white next. I’m craving warmth after all the cool grey of recent years.

I started with skimming stone in the front hall and liked it so much continued it through the whole hall way up the stairs and on the landing.

I have also now painted my lounge in the same.

When a guest commented on the lovely tones in the decor they could not believe it was the same paint.

It is an easy colour to live with and looks good with bright light and even on a north facing wall.

Dulux - Timeless
F&B - School hous white or off white

ConstanceL · 10/01/2022 20:56

Another vote for Dulux timeless. We had it throughout our old house and it was a lovely gentle colour that worked well in all light directions. Just about to paint the same colour in the hallway and stairs of our new place.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 10/01/2022 21:00

Deluxe Timeless.

JuneOsborne · 10/01/2022 21:05

I really liked bone. No one else in the house did though.

I'm a big fan of getting the colour you want mixed up by valspar. The one in the gold tin (£48 for the big pot) is the best paint I've ever used. And paint massive tester patches. I use the whole valspar pot of tester to see what the colour really looks like.

Oxford stone (F and B) is like a modern magnolia. It was a bit flat for me, but nice, neutral colour verging on beige.

SiobhanSharpe · 10/01/2022 21:09

Dulux nutmeg white is a soft, warm greige.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 10/01/2022 21:10

@fairislecable totally agree! It's amazing how different it looks depending on the natural light and aspect

iwantavuvezela · 10/01/2022 21:11

another vote for slaked Lime (little green)

Cornisharchitect · 10/01/2022 21:13

Dulux Egyptian Cotton is beautiful and a few clients have opted for this over F&B so it must be “in” Smile

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 10/01/2022 21:14

Cornisharchitect · 10/01/2022 21:22

And I’m just about to paint my chimney breast in the lounge with Dulux nutmeg which is a beautiful griege colour. I used it in the boot room and it’s absolutely stunning in all lights..

HeyMicky · 10/01/2022 21:25

Dulux Chalkstone. This is the 3rd house in which we've used it. Goes with everything, works in all lights

GemmaRuby · 10/01/2022 21:29

Another vote for Dulux Egyptian Cotton - looks different in different lights, really lovely.
Our decorator said it was much nicer than the same old greys he usually has to paint.

Pickledlipstick · 10/01/2022 21:32

Dulux gentle fawn

Lifeisnteasy · 10/01/2022 21:33
