@whataboutbob my kitchen was by a company called faith furniture and they've been bloody awful. We've had 5 cock ups to resolve and their customer service has been shocking. So just some solidarity from me really!

I’m awake doing some work. Who is having a sofa in the kitchen? DH wants a 3 seat but I think that’s too big

@Callmejudith that's dedication, hope you also got some sleep! Our kitchen runs into a dining area runs into a sofa and TV area. Very stuck on what sofa to put there though. In my head was going to get a corner sofa so could also sit facing out the bifolds. But they're all too big. Currently got extremely battered old 2 seater and 2 ikea poang. Thought would live with it while I test out the space.

Up early as off running in a bit.

Our rear extension opens into the old living room so sofas in there. Currently have a variety of old battered mismatched stuff that we’ll love with for now. I’d also like a corner something. Dh has an ancient chair that’s good for his back apparently. Not sure he still has the same back issue from 20+ years ago mind you!

@Callmejudith sounds like your joiner has done a fab job. Does that mean you'll be decorated by Christmas? Yay to bold skirting colour!

I've bought some IKEA Farlov sofas for our kitchen snug. Was previously a separate study, is now part of the kitchen, which I'm excited about 😊

Yes that is a bravely early run, my Sunday run is 9am which I'll now count as civilised...

@Callmejudith we've always had one in ours - but a small 3 seater rather than a large one if that makes sense!

@Callmejudith we are having a corner sofa plus a 2 seater but no dining table.

I have managed to secure an instore appointment with IKEA Tuesday pm and will take half a day off work, I do hope they show some flexibility, at the very least re do the plans as the current ones do not work at all. Then there’s the matter of the surplus items and missing items, just praying they show goodwill on exchanging and not cock up the delivery next time . I want to be at the amazing stages everyone else on here seems to be ( even if I know it must have taken blood sweat and tears to get there)!

Kitchen guy back from holiday and round here at 8am with new drawings and has spoken to the fitter to all should be well with the higher up cupboards.

Just to sort out an upside down door (?) and a missing plug socket that I thought we’d agreed on. May have to live without it now.

Our decorators have arrived but unfortunately the plaster isn't fully dry due to no heating so they have some industrial heaters going so hopefully can mist the kitchen later today. It's supposed to be fitted tomorrow; all the appliances are arriving today! Having lived here all weekend the snagging list is growing ....

Morning everyone
We have electricians here doing second fix this morning. Plastering was finished on Saturday. It's bloody freezing outside but the completely unheated extension is quite warm so I guess my insistence on over specifying the insulation is paying dividends.

Good luck for the week everyone! We have electricians here doing the wall lights, led strips and outside socket. I’m still not 100% on the wall lights but hopefully will change my mind when they’re up

So extra bits for kitchen not coming til tomorrow so todays guy has limited work but still at least he’s here. Getting the new island into place which I’m looking forward to so I can imagine better how things will work.

Other guy now here to move a gas pipe (unconnected atm anyway) as in the wrong place.

Mystery of missing socket not solved but apparently can go in later as some cable nearby.

Upside down door was just to check everything was square apparently.

Have potentially got the worktop guy coming later this week too to template.

I’ve done the first coat of paint on DDs wardrobe which is job that’s been hanging about for weeks! Will finish it today and put all her clothes back - I promise!.

Electrician has made a mistake with the Downlighter's but I think he's more upset about it than I am - we've got a solution that's not going to cause too many problems and still look good and he's going to knock some money off the bill so I'm ok with it. My heart did sink though when he said we have a problem.

Electrician issues here too. They can't do the lights on the kickboards because of the dishwasher. I am almost past caring if I'm honest.

I’m telling my lot that nothing can stress me out anymore. I’m going full on Zen 🧘‍♀️ 😂

We have most of the lights, most of the sockets but no electric heating or data cables yet hopefully we get them tomorrow.
My favourite bit so far is the outside lights bit of a crap photo but the lawn was very wet.

Today on site, the bathrooms are starting to come together. Radiators installed in master and guest bathrooms. They didn't seem to get much done for 2 plumbers, so hoping they speed up!!!!!

Tomorrow I've hired a Luton van and a storage unit. I've asked the foreman to drive it for me eekkk. I need to get everything out that's currently stored in the bedrooms in order to get them to paint quicker and also so it can all be cleaned quickly. That was my error thinking I could keep the bedrooms full of stuff that has since been moved around a lot 🤦🏼‍♀️

So much progress, loving all the photos!

@wonkylegs - what lights did you go for? I think I want similar for outside on the patio.

@Callmejudith - love all the lights esp the lower level ones. We’ll have one line of them I think under where the hob will be. I’ve had to make lots of electrical decisions today, sockets, more sockets, lining them up/cantering them, etc.

@PoshWatchShitShoes - so are you going to empty the house? And put stuff where?

I think I’ve included a kitchen progress photo. Imagine a drinks fridge where the pink recycling bags are, swivel comfy stools with backs (any recommendations welcome!) along the front and hopefully DH cooking me dinner on the other side of the island 😂

Drinks fridge and hob and last kitchen cupboard bits arriving tomorrow.
Template guy coming on Thursday. Just need a cheapie tap to get me through til Jan and it’ll be good to go. Well, when the gasman has been, and the plumber has done his bits, and the electrician is finished…..
