Range cookers.

We’re looking at range cookers and are after any reviews. We are after a 90cm silver/steel range. We like the look of the rangemaster Kitchener 90. But are put off by the slide out grill which seems very small and the roasting tray hanging on the main oven door feels like it would annoy? The Belling Sandringham seems to fit the bill in other ways but just doesn’t look quite as nice. Anyone have any recommendations or experience of either?

We have the Rangemaater 90. I love it, no problems with the grill and you can just remove the tray which hangs on the door - I hardly ever use it as it means you can't get anything else in! We've had ours about 3 years, still looks great.

We have the Rangemaster Professional + 90 in stainless steel. I love it, especially having the small side oven, as our previous range cooker just had one big oven, not always economical. I find the slide out grill fine. The door mounted shelf is annoying so we have removed it. I'd buy it again for sure.

Thanks both. Do you not find the grill pan very small? Also a few reviews say it’s too close to the heat so thick things touch the element. Have you found that?

We had a cream duel fuel Rangemaster at our old house, either 90cm or 100cm and was still going fine at 10 years when we sold house. Are about to put another one in our kitchen here as we loved it, will be a smaller version as smaller kitchen but similar looking.

I have the rangemaster nexus induction in stainless steel. I love how easy induction is, it has a griddle on top which is my favourite feature. The tray attached to the door doesn't get in the way and I like how smooth the grill tray slides out.

We used to have a Rangemaster Elan 110 and loved it so much that after we sold it with that house, we bought another at our next 😉 Really liked the tray attached to the door!

Next house we bought already had an Aga. We used it for a couple of years but really didn't like it at all, so had it removed 🙄

Three years ago - after moving again - we bought a Bertazzoni professional 90cm. I'd been coveting it for ages, but imho it's nowhere as good as the Rangemaster and I wouldn't buy another....

I love the grill on our range master professional, its super smooth action is very satisfying!! You can change the height of the grill slightly but we've never had a problem. Taken out the tray attached to the door, it just got in the way - although I have a friend with the same and she loves hers.

We've had ours about 4 years now and would get exactly the same if we ever moved house.

We had the Rangemaster Professional and recently bought the Elise in China blue so RM owners for nearly 20 years now. It was only when we had the Elise fitted that we were told the grill rack has 4 different settings by turning it about. Apparently it’s a common issue that people don’t realise! If you’re in London/SE I can recommend the best and most helpful range shop.

the rangmaster was far better quality, the idea was it was an easier Aga for a modern kitchen. flavels as was produced far better quality cookers than most of its competitors. The guy that designed this cooker had a battle to get it into production and strangely its one of the only ranges they have left coming out the factor door

We are looking to get another Rangemaster and does appear delays though are awaiting joiner before ordering. Hoping its not until March but noticed almost everywhere says no stock. If you go on Rangemaster site it lists suppliers in area. I'm looking for a smaller one as we just have a galley kitchen and electric as we are in a thatched cottage and that just has electric at the moment and odd place seems to have 1 in stock in theory at least but we are doing 60cms one.

Another vote for Rangemaster - we’ve had a dual fuel for 15 years, black and chrome, 90. No problems with the grill at all. I mainly use the narrower fan oven and you have to shop around a bit for the right size oven trays but that’s the only problem! I did find the attached oven tray annoying sometime but that’s a small think and you can take the whole thing out and get rid of you do. Great cooker and great service afterwards - they can mend or replace nearly all of it but tbh apart from the self ignited on the gas Bob nothing has ever gone wrong ! Easy to clean too mine still looks sparkling.

We had a rangemaster and I didn't particularly like it. It died after ten years and I've now got a Belling which is a much better cooker.

I’ve got a RM90. Love the bloody thing Blush never had a problem with it. WRT the grill, it seems an ok size to me, I wouldn’t have expected a larger size. I use the side oven loads. It’s just the right size for making Christmas dinner whilst juggling.

We have the Rangemaster 90 - the grill and oven door shelf have never bothered us. We take the door shelf off. The grill was big enough for a growing family of 5, although I used the narrow oven the most!

We've got a Falcon 1000 Deluxe all electric with induction hob. It's a fantastic cooker, and the hob is amazing. I'm really pleased with it, and all the trays/grill is really solid quality.

I'm looking at the Belling Gourmet 90ei at the moment. There is a store locally who seems to have a few of them graded for around the £1,000 mark. The issues are almost all marks to the side, which will be hidden.

Which model do you have please?

This is mine. I do a lot of cooking, very big family and also make cakes professionally. It's excellent.

We got the Belling when Rangemaster stopped supplying them during the first lockdown. Really happy with it!

I've just had a Rangemaster Elise 110 dual fuel delivered. It's beautiful. No idea how it works and will be another couple of months till we're back in the house, but it looks lovely and that's my main priority for my new kitchen 😂

You might - we took ours out and replaced it with an electric induction range. I hated how the Aga couldn't be controlled quickly and how the temperature in the oven would drop when we lifted the lids.
