Range cookers.

We’re looking at range cookers and are after any reviews. We are after a 90cm silver/steel range. We like the look of the rangemaster Kitchener 90. But are put off by the slide out grill which seems very small and the roasting tray hanging on the main oven door feels like it would annoy? The Belling Sandringham seems to fit the bill in other ways but just doesn’t look quite as nice. Anyone have any recommendations or experience of either?

Thanks @freshcarnation yours is one I'm looking at as well but in silver and induction. There is only dh and I usually, though the kids visit for lunch from time to time so I don't really need that many ovens, but always nice to have them anyway. I've convinced myself I'll bake more when it's in 😂

I had a Rangemaster Elan, it was so pretty but the build quality was crap. The burners got clogged easily, the screws holding the back plate were always loose and the enamelled pan rests too big to put in the dishwasher or sink. In the end the smaller door dropped off, it corroded and disintegrated. I spent more years with a falling apart range than I did a working one.

I’ve now got this www.ilveappliances.co.uk/collections/milano-range-cookers

The difference in quality is awesome. It’s so solid, comes in a range of colours, sizes and fuel options. The pan rests are cast iron and the top stainless steel. The doors are so solid and you can mop underneath.

10/10.

I’ve got the Rangemaster 90 in cream. Absolutely love it. I don’t use the grill often, but haven’t found it a problem. The smaller side oven is great for increased space cooking a roast. I took the door shelf off, as I found it annoying!

I went for the additional option of having a glass lid for the hob, which I find helps in keeping the hob looking clean as no dust can settle onto it.

I've bought the Belling Gourmet 90ei. Place near me had a brand new in packaging one with a broken glass door. He's replacing the door for me, still has all Belling Guarantees etc and it's £500 cheaper than Currys. Perfect!

We have a Falcon and it's great.

My only advice would be avoid Lacanche. We had a Cluny for several years which looked beautiful, but everything that could possibly go wrong did so, including grill element, fan, door seals, door hinges, thermostat, etc, etc.
