Window cleaner - how much do you pay?

Looking for a window cleaner in the SE (outside London) - just wondering what the going rates are and what people pay at the moment? Have been quoted £60 for a one-off, which seems a bit high to me (monthly around £30).

I remember as a child we used to get them coming round every month for a fiver! But times have changed ...

Wow that seems very expensive but you haven't said how many windows it is.

I'm in the North West and pay £4 every two weeks and that is front door, one bay window downstairs and two normal windows upstairs (they don't do the back due to access restrictions).

Pascha · 02/10/2021 13:57

£15 every six weeks for a 3 bed semi (10 windows of varying sizes, 2 velux, front door, back door, french doors). Every window cleaner locally quoted the same so it's the going rate round here in rural Kent.

Nanananani · 02/10/2021 13:58

£50 a time for 16 windows + conservatory

Ekofisk · 02/10/2021 13:59

£40 for a one off, £20 every six weeks. 3 storey semi, south east England.

userxx · 02/10/2021 14:01

£5.00 per month. He's shit though.

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 02/10/2021 14:02

£15 every 6 weeks 4 bedroomed detached house west midlands

Splatling · 02/10/2021 14:02

It is a bit high then I think? It's for front and back with patio doors (so around 6 large windows), front door and patio doors.

Think I'll get some more quotes!

£7.00, he comes once a month. It’s a 3 bed detached house with conservatory so quite a lot of glass. I’m in the NE of England.

PippaOwl · 02/10/2021 14:04

£20 for a 4 bed detached - err about 16 or so windows. South east. They also clean all the sills and fascias

Thesearmsofmine · 02/10/2021 14:05

That is so expensive! Ours is £7 once a month for 7 large windows, 1 small window, front and back doors! We’re in Yorkshire.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2021 14:07

£11 every 8 weeks for 9 windows and 2 doors.

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/10/2021 14:09

£10 for the front only.
£12 for front and downstairs at the back.
£15 for front, downstairs and upstairs at the back.

Our window cleaner is a friend so if I'm not home he just does the front as he needs to bring the ladders through the house. He only does the upstairs back windows occasionally as it involves stepping off the ladder onto a sloping single storey roof.

ParkheadParadise · 02/10/2021 14:11

I pay £15 a month plus a can of Irn Bru.
12 windows and bi-folds at the back He also washes dd face through the glass every month. Since she started school she now wants him to come at the weekend😆
I'm in Glasgow. There are 6 houses in the cul-de-sac he does them all.
