I'd quite like it to stay in as an air bnb or something, but not to love in permanently. Even if I could afford it!

And I'm sure it's just the light, but that sofa in pic 2 looks so grotty!!!!!

Doubledoorsontogarden · 18/09/2021 12:23

Location location location. I might consider it as an alternative to an apartment without a garden. I’m in the south east though.

NoddingTulip · 18/09/2021 12:37

Its a bit shoe horned in and looks oddly out of place. It would be okay as an air B&B, but otherwise a bit pokey.
Its nicely decorated though, I like the green and white with tge wood in the lounge and tge kitchen, it looks clean, refreshing, and bright giving the illusion of making the room look bigger than its actual dimensions.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 18/09/2021 12:41

It’s got a great sized garden for such a tiddly house, especially in such a sought after spot.

theseoldbone · 18/09/2021 12:48

You're paying for the fact it's two houses, you don't need two kitchens unless you're renting the outside one out... but tenants would have to access it from your house so how would that work? No I wouldn't buy

Chunkymenrock · 18/09/2021 12:50

Is it yours, OP?

Regularsizedrudy · 18/09/2021 12:55

I absolutely hate it and I don’t think this kind of house should be legal

Bathshebahardy · 18/09/2021 12:57

It's quite odd and definitely overpriced. You can get 2 bed traditional houses in that area for similar or less.

So true my DD and her OH bought one round the corner in March for £525000.
LoisWilkers · 18/09/2021 13:18

no, it's hideous, and I'm in London.

gibletjane · 18/09/2021 14:18

It's definitely overpriced

gibletjane · 18/09/2021 14:21

from a SW London perspective

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2021 14:21

Too squeezed in

wonkylegs · 18/09/2021 14:29

I'm not sure of the estate agents use of the words 'spacious' 'ample' with regards to some truly minuscule spaces
My kitchen table is wider than the whole house and the second bedroom is the same size as my downstairs loo 🙄
My house is a decent size but hardly palatial, it is however up north.

Herecomesthesun70 · 18/09/2021 16:00

Jesus Christ
I'd have the best house in town for that around here

20questions · 18/09/2021 17:55

@Chunkymenrock no definitely not mine. Never even been to Twickenham Smile

@AtillatheHun you're right. I hadn't thought of that! Definitely 2 lots of council taxShock

And as others have pointed out, presumably the advantage of having a separate self contained area for e.g. AirBnB, lodger, adult child wouldn't really work as they'd have to traipse through your home to get to theirs.
I'm going to keep an eye on it to see how long it takes to sell and what it eventually goes for..

Well I would say most houses find their level - so if it overpriced - they will find out , either by lower offers or it just stays on the market.

I looks like there may be someone for the rather unusual layout would work but perhaps for that price a more tradition house would work better for lots of people.

I also think there should be a sticky on MN property which is "some areas of the country - houses are more expensive than other areas " Grin My parents have a lovely 4 bed house with a big garden - it isn't a mansion by any any any means means but it is nice - there are many places where what they could sell it for would not touch the sides on a 1 bed flat. But they are happy & it suits them.

maddy68 · 18/09/2021 18:45

I LOVE it. So quirky. Not sure I would want to live there though too small

HarrisMcCoo · 18/09/2021 18:52

No I wouldn't. For that budget where I live it's possible to buy large detached properties with land. And an abundance of fresh clean air!😂

YoComoManzanas · 18/09/2021 18:54

Why on earth didn't they design the house where the much bigger shed is and have the gap as a driveway? Bonkers. This erks me.

YoComoManzanas · 18/09/2021 18:54

*irks

corlan · 18/09/2021 19:00

The price will reflect the fact that the address guarantees admission to Waldegrave school - which is one of the best state secondaries in the country. Only useful if you have girls though!

Councilworker · 18/09/2021 19:20

@ArblemarchTFruitbat that house is just up the road from me. Beautiful area apart from the Gaddings Dam day trippers.

Looks like the current owner bought it last year and gave it that strange brick front and extended upwards as it was only single storey before themovemarket.com/tools/propertyprices/51a-third-cross-road-twickenham-tw2-5dy

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 18/09/2021 19:23

I haven't seen it in person, @Councilworker - it's so far beyond my budget that there's no point in torturing myself any more than I already do on Rightmove Grin.

BasiliskStare · 18/09/2021 19:35

@corlan when my FIL died - his house needed much doing upping and had lots of compromises - but it was within walking distance to an extremely good 2ndary State school - ( in small catchment area - not London ) - had to agree to a lower price but someone bought it fairly early doors.
