Because the last thread is nearly full and I for one very much appreciate the space to vent Grin

Good luck to everyone hoping to exchange and/or complete this week!

Fantastic @BlueCherryBlossom! Hope you will be completing soon 😊

AchillesLastStand · 24/08/2021 21:59

@BlueCherryBlossom many congratulations! You’ve been waiting such a long time.

Have you got any tips? We desperately need to exchange before the start of new school year!

labourlost · 24/08/2021 22:47

Congratulations @BlueCherryBlossom that's great news!

Our buyer (with what we believe are dodgy funds) finally admitted he couldn't proceed and pulled out of the purchase. I was/am gutted, up to the last minute i really thought he would have the funds.

We are ploughing ahead with new buyers who are willing to purchase the searches. I still think we'll miss the deadline though.

Itscoldouthere · 24/08/2021 23:51

@BlueCherryBlossom congratulation you give us all hope 🤩🥳

@labourlost what a bummer, was that the people that transferred money from USA?
We had to transfer some cash from Canada, it was a bit stressful especially the whole exchange rate fluctuation, but we’ve done it now, wanted it in the UK well ahead of exchange ( although that may not happen) I hope you manage to proceed with new buyers.

PlanarJaner · 25/08/2021 02:24

@BlueCherryBlossom 😍 wow. Congratulations!

It's possible my purchase might still pull through. Conveyancers and surveyors are doing their magic! Fingers crossed. We've missed school start but that's OK.

BlueCherryBlossom · 25/08/2021 06:42

Thank you all! Hope everyone else gets there soon too.

Not sure I do have any useful tips sadly, @AchillesLastStand!

Ruralbliss · 25/08/2021 08:41

My surveyor has gone AWOL. Survey carried out Tues 10th Aug, monies paid to them a day or two later with an email saying report will be with me early next week. That was a week ago and no sign of it and now not responding to my emails which is never a good sign. I asked the estate agent if my buyers had theirs from him as using the same bloke she is yet to hear back.

I pressed on with getting mortgage application slot set up but no slots available until 3rd Sept.

It's all so ridiculously slow and annoying isn't it.

SaltySeaAir · 25/08/2021 09:40

Congratulations @BlueCherryBlossom!

I can only imagine how I will feel when we get to that stage 🤣 The not knowing what it going on is the worst part!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 25/08/2021 10:38

Congratulations @BlueCherryBlossom!!

I'm sorry, @labourlost. Best of luck with the new buyers.

I have no idea what to do now, really. DH thinks we should let it plough on because we've paid for everything now, which I guess makes sense... Still no contact from our solicitor's stand-in, or our buyers, as far as I'm aware.

ForThePurposesOfTheDIR · 25/08/2021 10:48

Congratulations @BlueCherryBlossom

Such a relief isn’t it!

labourlost · 25/08/2021 11:07

@itscoldouthere yes it was them. I'm glad you've got your funds transferred. Good luck with yours Smile

LopsidedWombat · 25/08/2021 12:41

That is such great news @BlueCherryBlossom and you have given me hope! (been on and off these threads since Nov)

AchillesLastStand · 25/08/2021 14:05

We have finally exchanged today, completing on 13 September. I can’t believe it’s actually happening. This is our first permanent home, and I’m so relieved my son can start his new school next week in the certainty we’ll be moving nearby very soon.

ZimZamZoom · 25/08/2021 14:33

Hi all, I was on a much earlier thread but our buyers pulled out and we lost our onward purchase (this took 4 months in total). Eventually sold to new buyers in June (which took 4 months from viewing/offer to completion).
Decided to move in with family in order to break the chain (two months ago).
Finally had an offer accepted last Friday - so I've reset the countdown clock once again!

Congratulations @AchillesLastStand!

Good luck @ZimZamZoom.

Mixed day here. Our solicitor didn't return any of our "urgent" calls or emails.

Did speak to our sellers EA, whose main concern is that she was told different information to an EA higher up the chain from our EA yesterday. One was told that our buyer is remortgaging a property they already own to buy ours with cash, and one was told they were mortgaging here, but there's been no valuation or progress in 10 days. They are antsy about the contradictory information.

Feeling pretty fed up, but really hoping it'll come through....

BlueCherryBlossom · 25/08/2021 17:37

So pleased for you @AchillesLastStand!

Itscoldouthere · 25/08/2021 17:53

@AchillesLastStand congratulations 🥳🥳

We are now stuck just waiting for the JK report, we keep flip flopping about if we want to buy it or not.
I’ve just booked a flight back to UK for the middle is September, the thinking being I’ll either be ready for exchange/complete or will be starting to look for a property all over again.
We expect to hear today/tomorrow if Canada changes from amber to green, luckily I had my vaccinations in the UK so it doesn’t affect me but my DH has his in Canada so currently has to quarantine, although he can’t come with me as we have a dog and nobody to look after him but us, it’s all such a faff.

TashieWoo · 25/08/2021 19:37

Congratulations @AchillesLastStand!

Good luck with everything @ZimZamZoom, sounds like you’ve been through a lot of aggro but hopefully this one will work out! I’m in a similar position to you as DP and I had an offer accepted last Monday. I’m so excited but trying to be patient. This will be my first place but DP has sold his flat, his buyer is chain free so we are at the bottom. Hopefully he won’t pull out if our sellers take a while to find somewhere.

I took the rash decision to buy some furniture for the new place today, some lovely bedside tables and dressing table in an auction. I figure we will need them wherever we end up though!

Dontwatchfootball · 25/08/2021 19:41

I exchanged today! Complete and move on Friday! It only got confirmed that we could do this yesterday at 2pm! I am over excited and exhausted, hence the exclamation marks!!! Good luck to you all!

Wow that's fast! Congratulations!

Well as far as I know now, our buyer is satisfied with our answers to enquiries and an indemnity insurance policy in place. Our sellers solicitor has sent back the answers to our enquiries today apparently but my solicitor hasn't told me this or sent me them (will I get sent them?!).

Our seller is submitting her mortgage application next Tuesday Confused why that takes so long I don't know, can only think it's an appointment with a broker or the bank themselves?!

Our mortgage offer took ages so I am not feeling hopeful at all. We are all waiting for her now. Should enquiries be sent off now or will they wait until the mortgage has been offered?

I'm v close to asking her to break the chain but I can't imagine she will.
