I just want to say how utterly brilliant AO (Appliances Online) are.

Had a hotpoint washing machine delivered recently, bought from AO. After 6 or 7 washes, it stopped spinning.

After being on hold, listening to the usual covid bollocks for 15 minutes, eventually a recorded delivery message told me no one was available and to look on Youtube for a fix.

Called AO, and someone answered the phone immediately.
Told them the problem, they said they'd get Hotpoint on the line there and then on a conference call and help get it fixed.

They couldn't get through either. The girl said OK, we'll just give you a new machine, can we deliver on Friday? And what sort do you want? And we'll disconnect, connect and get rid of the hotpoint for you. Oh and by the way we'll pay the extra (went for another brand).

All sorted (apart from the time she was on hold to sodding hotpoint) within about 5 mins, including me going on line while she was on the phone and picking a replacement.

They are by far and above the best for customer service of any company I deal with.

They are brilliant. Always try to buy through them if possible as their customer service is excellent.

I love AO and agree that the after sales call from Domestic and General Insurance can be annoying.

They are separate companies, D&G offering insurance on the item AO tell them you purchased.
I always tell them thanks but no, not yet as I already have a warranty for a year but I ask they call back in 12 months once my warranty is out. And they do.

I took their cooker insurance and it has been a god send. I've had it fixed 3 times. One being the fan, another time was heating element and the last one was when the housing association kitchen fitters put a scratch in the door and refused to take responsibility. Got a whole new door put on two days later.

When the oven becomes unrepairable then I get a new one. I keep hoping one of the family accidentally f**k it up, like dropping something heavy on the hob GrinWink

Yes, I bought a dryer from them. It was delivered and I began to open it then realised it wasn't what I ordered. Called AO and the man I spoke with was so helpful. He contacted the delivery drivers, they picked it up and replaced it with the one that was mine (address mix up) then he called back later to check it had all gone ok. I also bought it though Boots who sell household appliances on AO so got a load of advantage card points!

I've used AO a few times now for various appliances and have always been very happy - in fact I'm waiting for delivery of a new washer and dishwasher at the moment! The calls about cover are annoying but they're always super polite (unlike some other companies...) and I just ask them to email me the documentation so I can read in my own time which stops the phone calls.

I also really like their website, clear and easy to navigate.

This time I did as someone above and ordered through Boots, so I could get the advantage points. When they rang to confirm the delivery/do the sales waffle they offered to wave the cost of removal of the defunct washer too.

We've always had good service from them. I find the only time they ring you to sell you extra stuff is if you don't select the option to take away your old appliance. They've always then phoned and offered to take the old one away for free while offering me an extended warranty, which I've always said no to. They're my go-to company for white goods.

I bought a Bean to Cup machine from AO last year, delivered very promptly the day after I ordered.
The following Monday my colleague asked what I had bought so I sent him the link only to discover that the machine was now quite a bit cheaper.
They have a best price promise, so I contacted them and was refunded the difference within days. Brilliant service from start to finish.

The washing machine I was expecting yesterday (after a 10 day wait) didn’t arrive. I have to wait another two weeks or accept a lower spec model. I’ve been their customer for years. It’s the first time they’ve met me down.

pinkprosseco · 23/06/2021 08:05

I've used once recently and the price was good and the service very reliable. Unfortunately that stands out now as very few companies even deliver on basic customer care.

SingingInTheShithouse · 23/06/2021 08:41

We use them too & have had decades of great service & buys from them. Really good company

newyorky09 · 23/06/2021 10:28

I agree- just received 5 appliances from
Them and they’ve been brilliant at every stage.

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 23/06/2021 10:39

We have used them lots. Had a kitchen extension and all new appliances came from them. When the combi-microwave was installed it made a buzzing noise and the electrician who was here sorting all my electrics out told me what was wrong wit it. I contacted AO, they came and collected the faulty one and handed over a new one.

We have used them since for other stuff. I cannot fault them, they delivered a new larder freezer and collected the old one, drivers are always polite and respectful toward my property.

RightOnTheEdge · 23/06/2021 10:52

I've had a fridge freezer, washing machine and chest freezer from ao and had great service every time.
They are always the first place I go now.
I ignore any numbers I don't know for a couple of weeks after though to avoid the annoying customer service calls from them.
