I just want to say how utterly brilliant AO (Appliances Online) are.

Had a hotpoint washing machine delivered recently, bought from AO. After 6 or 7 washes, it stopped spinning.

After being on hold, listening to the usual covid bollocks for 15 minutes, eventually a recorded delivery message told me no one was available and to look on Youtube for a fix.

Called AO, and someone answered the phone immediately.
Told them the problem, they said they'd get Hotpoint on the line there and then on a conference call and help get it fixed.

They couldn't get through either. The girl said OK, we'll just give you a new machine, can we deliver on Friday? And what sort do you want? And we'll disconnect, connect and get rid of the hotpoint for you. Oh and by the way we'll pay the extra (went for another brand).

All sorted (apart from the time she was on hold to sodding hotpoint) within about 5 mins, including me going on line while she was on the phone and picking a replacement.

They are by far and above the best for customer service of any company I deal with.

Yes, we have bought several things from them and they have always been amazing

TiltTopTable · 16/06/2021 17:41

I've had only positive dealings with them too.

Waitwhat23 · 16/06/2021 17:42

They are brilliant. We have switched to the entirely for white goods.

SandysMam · 16/06/2021 17:45

They are good. My only slight problem with this is they constantly try to flog you warranties etc but the actual purchase and delivery I can’t fault.

SummerSaladsAreBack · 16/06/2021 18:01

Yes I always buy my appliances through them (have moved a lot so various appliances) and have always had excellent service and fast delivery.

CoastAlong · 16/06/2021 18:03

I've used them a lot too and can't fault them. Excellent customer service. Delivery always on time. I'm very impressed with them. Also if you use top cashback you get good cashback!

NewYearNewTwatName · 16/06/2021 18:07

yep have only good things to say about them. which is very unusual for me

We have bought several appliances from them now, always with ease, and often got a discount on our next purchase.

Currys on the other hand.........how long have you got?

soonshimmie · 16/06/2021 18:25

They are good apart from when they keep calling you after a purchase is made to flog you other stuff. Wish they wouldn't do that.

OverByYer · 16/06/2021 18:30

When I refitted I went to them for all my appliances and they give me a little discount but what was really helpful was they allowed me to vary my delivery date to fit in with my fitters. I buy all my electric goods from them. Only irritation is they do try and flog insurance to you

Fkrkrodps · 16/06/2021 18:31

I found them to be awful would never use them again.

HeronLanyon · 16/06/2021 18:32

Wow. And double wow as I’m about to replace my fridge freezer which is giving up the ghost and can’t take many more hot days. Thanks op.

BabycakesMatlala · 16/06/2021 18:32

I only use them - amazeballs service (and I don't mind the extra flogging as they're ever so nice about it, so I can forgive them!)

sleepyhead · 16/06/2021 18:35

I really like them, but the warranty thing almost put me off using them a second time.

I got round it by not picking up the phone to them after I'd made the purchase and they eventually stopped calling.

Price and service (apart from annoying warranty hard sell) was great though and good communication (by text) on delivery.

yodaforpresident · 16/06/2021 18:46

Agree - amazing customer service. I also actually discussed the warranty with them and it’s not the typical extended warranty offering so I have agreed to it on a Miele dryer.

WhyDoesItAlways · 16/06/2021 18:54

Yep, they've replaced an oven for me next day after the delivery driver left some plastic in it and then turned it on high! No questions asked.

MedusasBadHairDay · 16/06/2021 18:56

I've found them consistently good service too

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/06/2021 18:57

Agree. They are excellent. I use them in my tenant properties too because they deliver so fast.

Yes - amazing. I once ordered a replacement dishwasher and the AO guy who came to install it realised that it was fine and the problem was a blocked pipe. He took the new one back...

GappyValley · 16/06/2021 19:00

They sound brilliant

Better than my shitshow experience with Appliances Direct, who delivered the wrong fridge which wouldn’t fit properly in the gap, then told me it would be 3 days before they could collect it and deliver the correct one, and oh you can’t turn on the wrong-size one in the meantime because we only accept returns in unused condition

So I had the choice between no fridge for 3 days or the wrong size one
I had to take the one they delivered and 4 years on, I still get angry every time I look at it..!

MaloInAnAppleTree · 16/06/2021 19:01

They normally have what I want in stock at a reasonable price and will deliver fast and at a time of my choosing for a moderate fee. What more could I ask for?

Iknowtheanswer · 16/06/2021 19:02

I've just bought my mum a cooker and they were indeed fantastic!

I had the phone call about the warranty, explained that although I gave my number (mum not comfortable dealing on the phone or buying online), and they immediately went from sales mode, to customer service mode. Told the delivery team that my mum was nervous etc.

On the day, lots of updates, and not only did they install the cooker and remove the old one, they all fixed a wonky cupboard that had come away from the wall next to it.

My mum was so impressed with them.

Hax · 16/06/2021 19:05

Yes brilliant customer service.
When DS bought a house we measured up for a fridge freezer and ordered from AO. At the last minute I looked on AO's website where they have step by step instructions and realised it might not fit in the slot. Rang them the day before delivery and they were really helpful, agreed with me and changed the order to a slightly smaller one. They still delivered on the original day.

Roselilly36 · 16/06/2021 19:09

I wonder if they farm warranties out to D&G rather than administer them theirselves. They are usually on the phone pretty quick after purchase. I don’t like it when the try to say they are checking on delivery details and then launch into full additional warranty sales mode! Having said that the purchase I made last week through AO I haven’t had the warranty call as yet. They needn’t bother if I want an additional warranty I will take it out directly with the manufacturer. But I have to say AO have usually been reliable on delivery on the whole.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 16/06/2021 19:12

I’ve had great customer service from them. They call back when they say they will, so you don’t have to keep calling them. And I’ve also had the conference call thing where they get the manufacturer on board and you can talk directly to them, with AO listening. They really support the customers case and make sure you’re happy with the end result.

I bought a Beko cooker that cooked really unevenly - as a home baking business I need a reliable oven and having spent nearly £800 on it I thought it would be ok.

They sent an engineer out but he was useless so AO told Beko you’ve had your chance to fix it, but your engineer didn’t help, so we doing a refund. They didn’t have many alternatives in stock at the time, so I had to keep it for a few weeks, but every few days the same guy would call me back and ask if I’d found one I wanted to swap it for.

Eventually a nice one came into stock. When it arrived it had a small scratch on the front. The driver called AO and they said unfortunately the best they could do was knock off £250!!! I took it. You can’t really see the scratch indoors anyway, due to the shadow of the handles. Bonus.
