Support thread - the countdown to June 30th.... will we /won’t we make it???

So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

@coffeequeenindevon I am so going in the wrong direction weight wise I am stress eating chocolate and drinking fruit ciders (claiming it’s not as bad a wine)

Maybe painting most of a house in a week will have the desired effect.

Thanks @coffeequeenindevon and @Cocoaone this gives me some hope!!

My god I am never EVER moving again, although having said that, maybe it would seem a lot easier next time with no stamp duty extension holiday ending ahh!!

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2021 08:42

Fingers crossed @Ccoffee217!

Please let us have some good news today!! 😩

Panda368 · 15/06/2021 08:57

I've given in and emailed our agents this morning so they can chase for an update on our buyers sale. It's so frustrating having what feels like your life hanging on someone else to receiving one piece of paper.

I spent too much of yesterday on the DIY kitchens kitchen builder tool building our 'stamp duty kitchen'.

I'm fairly resigned now that if we don't have any news this week it's not going to be happening in June. Trying very hard not to get my hopes up.

Panda2021 · 15/06/2021 09:07

Sounds like good progress many of you which is great! We in a chain of four are just waiting on one search to come back- should be anyway but just found out our buyers mortgage has not yet come through- absolutely crazy. As first time buyers they are not the ones who will lose out if it goes passed 30th June as no stamp duty to pay. Hoping to hear more info ASAP!

Cocoaone · 15/06/2021 09:24

DH hand delivered the paperwork yesterday, so I guess we are just waiting to hear about exchange and completion dates now.

I've text the vendors EA to update them, so hopefully they'll let the vendors know to expect the call.

Apparently our buyers are also ready, but their solicitor hasn't been in touch to discuss dates. They also want to move by 30th. I was hoping their mortgage was delayed so they were a few days behind us, to give us time to DIY move...

But who knows if any of us can get movers or vans!

Dinosauraddict · 15/06/2021 09:38

@Cocoaone - another stress eater here! @Didicat - I 'decluttered' yesterday by finishing the last fruit cider in the house!

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2021 09:39

With vans, (if it ever does happen for us 🙄) we are going to hire two, fill one up the day before and park it at my mums, then do the next van on completion day. We see it as the only option given there won’t be a removal company in sight now!

Dinosauraddict · 15/06/2021 09:44

@Gettingonabitnow - is van hire still available in June where you are? I know a few people have been struggling for that too depending on date!

Cocoaone · 15/06/2021 10:03

We are moving all the boxes already done to the inlaws this weekend. Then we'll hire a van to move the big stuff. If we can't hire a van, we can hopefully borrow a friends 🤞🏽

Potterurotter · 15/06/2021 10:39

I’m back in ‘no response from solicitor’ land. We signed all the paperwork for the purchase and sent back last week but haven’t received anything through for the sale. Surely we must be near the end but quite stressful not knowing when it’s going to happen and wondering how on Earth all this furniture will be moved!

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2021 12:01

Heard nothing today, really resisting the temptation to chase someone!

DaddysGirl36 · 15/06/2021 12:57

Has anyone considered or doing completion without searches back? Called search indemnity insurance. Been asked to consider but unsure what risk we'd be taking. Seems not to be massive risk on what I've read so far (not much as only heard today)

Dinosauraddict · 15/06/2021 13:01

@DaddysGirl36 some lenders won't accept it, others will. Worth checking which searches it would cover (e.g. is it one that you can actually find the info yourself like flood risk, is it only one or all of them etc). For everyone holding off on chasing - why? You have a lot more patience than me! I was chasing every day to ensure it got over the line.

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2021 13:45

@Dinosauraddict don’t get me wrong there is nothing I would like to do more than call these jokers every hour and demand to know why they are moving so slowly!!! But I’m trying to do it every other day to keep them all on side.

coffeequeenindevon · 15/06/2021 14:25

All gone quiet again here which is very frustrating given we thought we were ready to exchange. I’m not chasing because the agent has told us that our buyers don’t like him so I don’t want him chasing them and rubbing them up the wrong way. Our solicitor is brilliant so I am trusting she is doing everything she can.

Yeah our solicitor says he'd have to ask them & this would not likely give us completion before end of June so seems pointless

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2021 14:59

@coffeequeenindevon what are you waiting for again?

Quiet from us today too

Cocoaone · 15/06/2021 15:05

Haven't heard anything from our solicitor re exchange dates today. Tried calling twice in between meetings today but no answer.
Grrr

coffeequeenindevon · 15/06/2021 15:10

I’m not sure what we are waiting for to be honest. We have responded to all of the enquiries, contracts are signed our end, TR1 signed and returned etc. I think it is just our buyers’ solicitor holding things up (again) by being too busy to send a simple email arranging dates and proposing exchange.

Didicat · 15/06/2021 15:58

So no news here so assuming we’ve not exchanged yet. Been like a cat on a hot tin roof all flipping day.

Cocoaone · 15/06/2021 16:20

DH has spoken to solicitor - he's going to email the seller's solicitor re:exchange/dates. Fingers crossed for more news tomorrow

Didicat · 15/06/2021 16:33

Good luck @Cocoaone fingers crossed for you

I'm resisting the urge to chase everyone more than once a day but am so stressed!
Today I've found out our solicitors and buyers solicitor have requested funds to be drawn from lenders before exchange (which at this rate will prob be the same day as completion). It has to all happen by Monday else no removals to be had.
I've packed loads today and started dismantling furniture.
Good luck to everyone else 🤞🏼

Ccoffee217 · 15/06/2021 16:58

Okay so those 4 final enquiries were just silly things, 2 were questions we already answered and the other 2 our solicitor has gone back to say they're irrelevant.
BUT now, after 4 months our buyers want a boiler check done tomorrow!
They've paid and it's booked in for tomorrow afternoon but I mean what the hell...why wait this long? We sold start of Feb!
I'm wondering if their solicitor has advised to get one because we don't have a certificate where the house isn't that old.
But apparently if it's all good tomorrow we might exchange the day after.

Sounds like a few are getting close as well ladies, best of luck for the next few days!!
I honestly know how you all feel it's a weird mix between extreme excitement and worry and just generally like wtf!?
