So next week is June and the date is looming large! Wiltshire council are being particularly slow and searches not due back till 14th. Offer accepted early March.

36 days and counting between me moving house and a new kitchen and me moving house and saving hard to buy a kitchen in about 2 years time.

Anyone else being to feel the desperation kicking in just to all it all done and dusted!

I also caved and chased today! Didn't receive a response mind. My EA also chased my solicitor (looped me in but didn't tell me first), to say buyers solicitor is waiting on 4 queries. The same 4 which I dealt with in April and sent, again in May and again 2 weeks ago. I assume they're doing their best but good grief.
If I don't get an email tomorrow I'll brave it and call her!

coffeequeenindevon · 08/06/2021 20:03

No news here today. I was glad to be back in the office for the first time in months and distracted by colleagues. DH wants to tell the buyers where to go and start marketing again, but I am tempted to give them a week. We said we needed two weeks’ notice so if they don’t exchange next Wednesday it’s game over anyway.

Panda368 · 08/06/2021 20:04

I’ve had no replies. I will chase again on Thursday and just try not to think about it tomorrow. It’s the not knowing that’s driving me nuts at the moment all progress just seems to have stopped

HumourReplacementTherapy · 08/06/2021 20:22

Found out today our vendors haven't received their mortgage offer WTAF?!?
I can't bloody believe it! AngryAngryAngry
Sounds fishy to me at this stage.
Our solicitor has gone on mat leave
Her cover doesn't start until next Monday (she didn't tell me that!)
Vendors estate agent is off sick.
Apart from that, all going swimmingly

coffeequeenindevon · 08/06/2021 20:40

That sucks @HumourReplacementTherapy. So sorry.

Cocoaone · 08/06/2021 21:27

Oh bloody hell @HumourReplacementTherapy - how long have they been waiting?

No news here. Holding off chasing until Thursday, but I'm resigned to the fact we won't hit the stamp duty holiday now. Main stress is still that our sale is nearly ready for exchange and our purchase appears not.

Gettingonabitnow · 08/06/2021 21:32

@HumourReplacementTherapy that is crap, I’m sorry.

@Cocoaone we are similar, the people at the very front of the chain aren’t motivated by the stamp duty June holiday as their sale is

Livingintheclouds · 08/06/2021 22:09

My solicitor has been chasing seller's solicitor - requested draft contract May 18, June 1 and again today - only to be told the sellers solicitor has gone on annual leave! What conveyancer goes on holiday before the biggest deadline? An accountant doesn't go on leave in January! The EA is also on holiday. I feel everything is stacked against us and I complete on my sale Friday.

Panda2021 · 09/06/2021 00:01

Joining very late but reassured that there are other people going through the same thing, so so stressful. We are second from bottom
Of chain and above us the two people were 2/3 weeks later in finding a new property after us agreeing so we hadn’t though zero chances of end of June deadline. Fine. Budgeted the money etc. Mow suddenly in last two weeks the two who were last to get sorted in chain are insisting this happens before end of June( their purchases are much bigger and SD bill would be higher) then throw in a planning permission issue, a title deed issue, a very lazy solicitor in amongst the rest super efficient, one of the families being in an accident and still in hospital to top it all off. And still people are insisting it goes ahead or else they will pull out as can’t afford the stamp duty... aghhh never ever experienced stress like this in my life! I can’t bet get removals booked if it was to go ahead!! Aghh

Finallygrowingup · 09/06/2021 02:01

WILL WE EVER EXCHANGE??

I realised the reason my solicitor wasn't receiving the documents from the sellers solicitors was because they had a limit on size of attachments that they could receive.

Only realised this as I was finally copied in to an email that was apparently initially sent mid May but not received. I tried to forward on to my solicitors but received an undeliverable message and realised the issue. Surely solicitors should let all parties know if they have limited capacity to receive attachments. This has cost me 4 weeks delay so far!

Dinosauraddict · 09/06/2021 06:06

@HumourReplacementTherapy that totally sucks. Do you know when they applied for the mortgage and who it's with?

@Finallygrowingup that is ridiculous. At least you know now and can sort it out!

coffeequeenindevon · 09/06/2021 06:28

That’s madness re. the file attachments! 😳

First major anxiety dream about it all last night. Dreamt the buyers pulled out and we had to tell our vendors we wouldn’t be able to meet their deadlines (moving into rented for a bit and then into new house in a few months time). Vendors out the house on the market and in my dream I was crying and crying with DH being infuriatingly nonchalant about the whole thing!

Gettingonabitnow · 09/06/2021 07:48

Attachments too big! I’ve heard it all now.

Keep going ladies, it’s so stressful. I’m eating my way through it at the moment. We are hoping for some serious email traffic today amongst the solicitors x

Cocoaone · 09/06/2021 09:05

Our solicitor only deals with paper 😩

'D'H wants me to call and ask if an 'additional fee' will help speed things along. Of course it won't. I'm super awkward on the phone - I absolutely hate it. But apparently I'm the one who has a decent rapport with the Solicitor.

Ccoffee217 · 09/06/2021 09:39

I have thought about offering a bribe, but these people are as legal as you can get, being solicitors!! Lol, so it's unlikely to do anything 😔

Cocoaone · 09/06/2021 10:00

That's what I said @Ccoffee217!

He said it's not a bribe, it's offering to pay for any additional overtime costs incurred.... 🤨

Ccoffee217 · 09/06/2021 10:06

Good thinking @Cocoaone 😃 I'm sure there's some dodgy ones out there who would take it!

Panda2021 · 09/06/2021 10:06

Haha we’ve had the same convo here- considering offering additional fees to “expedite” some things along. Don’t think it would work however !

Cocoaone · 09/06/2021 10:15

Me neither. I imagine they are already working flat out.

Didicat · 09/06/2021 13:27

So despite being told expected date of searches of the 14th June since the end of April, believe it or not THEY ARE BACK!!! Solicitors sent the report, nothing jumped off the page or we didn’t already know about.

Talking dates, hope to exchange between the 14th-18th and complete 25/28th June feels like we are cutting it fine! Fingers and every other appendage crossed till then!

@Finallygrowingup That’s just utter madness in this day and age!

@HumourReplacementTherapy sorry your vendors are being utter morons, it’s going to feel like an eternity until Monday. Can you ask for someone else to review your file?

Mumelie · 09/06/2021 13:59

Hi. Joined the thread near the beginning and was hoping to have been somewhere by now but still no closer to exchange! We are still waiting on our buyers mortgage reoffer (from our price reduction 7 weeks ago) to reach their useless solicitor. This is the only thing that's outstanding in our chain of 4 and I'm chasing daily for information.
Although I've just found out the removal company I had lined up is now fully booked until July! Not sure there's much point ringing round any others without dates 🤷🏻‍♀️
Tearing my hair out watching the phone at the moment.....

Cocoaone · 09/06/2021 14:32

@Didicat - that's amazing news! You've given me hope. Our searches are back, just eagerly awaiting the report (and keeping everything crossed that there's nothing unexpected in there)

@Mumelie - that is a massive worry! We are hoping to move ourselves but only because our current house sale is supposed to be happening slightly after our onward purchase. If they end up being lined up and we have to move on the day, I have no idea what we'll do!

Panda368 · 09/06/2021 15:06

I realised I wrote but forgot to send my shitty update email to our estate agents yesterday.
I went back in a deleted a few sections from the draft so I sound a bit more agreeable and not like the angry pregnant knob that I am.

No further updates on our purchase apart from that apparently the final 2 documents we have been waiting for have been sent.... which was basically the same as the update I had on Friday... apparently they will be 'in shortly' whatever that means in solicitor speak...

I feel like on friday I will have to sit with a fake gin in our shitty yard and wave as our first proposed completion date sales by and we still haven't packed anything...

coffeequeenindevon · 09/06/2021 15:09

Tumbleweed here...

Resisting emailing our solicitor as she’s brilliant so would have doubtless told us if there was news. EA is a twit so no point in trying him.

Mumelie · 09/06/2021 15:09

@Cocoaone I've been calling round for hours now - all fully booked so no idea what we do if we do meet the deadline. I've a big house with 2 home offices and a chronic illness so need packers. Not sure this move could get any worse.
