Kitchen splashback - pictures please!

As title says, please can you give me ideas for our kitchen splashback. We have gone for a modern, dark handleless kitchen and tiles are off white, worktop is white with grey veins.

We will need splashback on one wall where hob is, other wall has a window. I have seen some companies using worktop as a splashback and others using glass in various colours for modern kitchens. Tiles used to be popular but look dated now. My concern is glass is dating as has been popular for past 10 years.

What do you have or would you recommend?

Excuse the pans out ...:I wanted a simple one peace, could have chosen an colour or design, went with white- however the glass is coloured white not a white colour put on top ie. it won’t go dingey

I went for really bright turqouise glass, matched it to my favourite travel mug.

We've got a cream kitchen with a dark carbon grey range cooker. It def needed a splash of colour in.

I’ve got worktop behind sink (window wall), and carried up as a windowsill.

Worktop behind hob, and glass splashback either side.

tiles are off white
Floor tiles or wall tiles?

If the former, do you want splashback just behind hob or all the wall?

Thank you all, you're convincing me that glass is not on its way out. It was my preferred option but suddenly got cold feet!

We have handleless dark navy base units and white wall units with a grey marble effect laminate worktop. We have pale grey glass splashback on all walls. I absolutely love it. It's bright (light bounces off the glass) not fussy and is very easy to clean. I love how you can pick any paint colour you like and they'll spray it into the glass.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 19/05/2021 18:32

We redid our kitchen end of last year so glass is definitely not on its way out!

I have wallpaper that is varnished with Polyvine matt decorators varnish. It's been up for 6 years and still looks great

That’s a great idea!

How many coats of varnish did you use? Is it glossy or matt?

Seeingadistance · 19/05/2021 19:11

Sorry, I see it’s matt.

Did it change the colour of the wallpaper at all? I know some varnishes have a yellowing effect.

We have tiles but as I hate cleaning grout I have clear glass over the tiles behind the hob.

Ours is glass with an olive green back. We love it and it cleans easily.

I've got navy blue Alusplash.
Although it's dark, it's also very reflective.
Cleans like a dream

I’m here for the pics as Im looking for splashback ideas too. I love the glass!

partywalladvice · 19/05/2021 22:42

Thank you all so much. Love all your kitchens, looking at other peoples kitchens is one of my favourite things to do!

I'm convinced it will definitely be glass, just to decide which colour now. Everything is very neutral so far so this can be my chance to add some colour in!

Now this looks so good too! We keep deliberating between this and glass. We've been told cost is same whichever we pick and just can't decide!

I was leaning towards glass after everyone's pictures but I do like this too

It’s Petworth Herringbone by Ted Todd.
