It's very lovely! Not enough garden/land for me personally, for the money, but appreciate it's a nice area though. :)

Jambalaya76 · 27/01/2021 21:16

Lovely but don't think it's worth a million

CoffeeRunner · 27/01/2021 21:16

The first photo is all wrong. Makes the property look scruffy & unkempt.

Is it a family home? It looks more like some sort of spiritual retreat?

Popsy321 · 27/01/2021 21:20

Lovely. Are you the buyer or seller? Bad form to post it on here if you're the buyer and invite possible negative comments on someone else's house.

TheBeesKnee · 27/01/2021 21:23

It's a good size but the finish is lacking for a £1m house. E.g. the tiles in the bathroom look like they're from B&Q? I'd expect absolute luxury at that price point Grin

Potential buyer, don’t intend to invite negative comments just trying to work out if it is value for money...

I love the garden and the countryside views! Also dream of having a hideaway cabin/studio in the garden.
House itself is fine- a bit bland somehow but you an change the decor..
Intrigued by the show cubicle bedroom.. is there a loo in there as well?!

Candleabra · 27/01/2021 21:26

£1million - wow, but then that's property prices now, you know the area and if it's worth that.
I wouldn't choose it though.
Personally I'm not a fan of this sort of big extension at the back of properties, it just all looks so clunky, with the big square columns in the way. They also tend to mess with the daylight in the rest of the house. And unless the layout is very cleverly redesigned, can make interior rooms redundant (just use them to walk through).
Just my opinion though, there's lots to like about it.

MollyButton · 27/01/2021 21:28

Seems very good to me for £1M. I recently sold a house in that price bracket in what I think would be a similar area and it wasn't as good - or as big a garden.

milienhaus · 27/01/2021 21:29

I live in London so looks like a huge amount of space for £1m to me! Very lovely house.

TokyoSushi · 27/01/2021 21:29

Oh I love it!

I was thinking it was quite reasonably priced!
EmmaGrundyForPM · 27/01/2021 21:29

I think its lovely. I don't know the area but it would definitely be value for money near me.

Claphands · 27/01/2021 21:30

I love it, price seems about right to me and you get a lot of good house for that money plus the amazing garden!

TheoriginalLEM · 27/01/2021 21:30

I love it, although id want to know what the street was like.

Price seems about right for the area.

Not sure about the decking.

I disagree with pp about first picture, the front of the house is a little suburban and it would have changed my opinion if i had seen that first.

Is it on a main road?

TheBeesKnee · 27/01/2021 21:32

McCorona

It's on the A26!

girlofnow · 27/01/2021 21:32

I live in TW. That's a good price for a house that size.

It's right on the main road near the bypass. And it's sort of in the middle of nowhere for shops etc.

DappledOliveGroves · 27/01/2021 21:33

It looks ok. Some of the rooms are lovely but overall it's not breathtaking. I watched the video too, and the traffic on the road outside looks horrendous - no way would I live on a road like that!

PuffItsGone · 27/01/2021 21:33

Seems brilliant value for money but I’m Home Counties so maybe desensitised. Huge garden and good size house. It’s only £370 per sq ft I think which is v good value. Internal decor not at all to my taste but that’s easily fixed

ARoseDowntown · 27/01/2021 21:43

Don’t know anything about the location which of course is by far the biggest issue. Tunbridge well, 2700sq ft, £1m - I’m guessing it’s location isn’t that great.

As for the house itself, the view over the fields is the best bit. Not enough toilets/bathrooms for the number of people who can live in the house. Main objection, though, is that it doesn’t look like an easy house to live in. For example, the kitchen layout is all wrong for ease of actual cooking; kitchen has a door but is open at the other end so no way to keep cooking smells out; the rooms are difficult to furnish in a user-friendly way (TV askew on the wall, beds covering windows, random shower cubicle in a bedroom); carport only and that across the courtyard from the house; and so on and so forth. No single issue is a big deal. Put them together, that’s a lot of compromises for £1m. It’s a detached 4 bedroom house with a large garden a pretty long commute out of London. You can pay less for that.

Solina · 27/01/2021 21:44

It is a nice house with a lovely garden. However, if I had £1mil budget I would not buy a house on a big main road so it would be a hard pass for me even though it would be lovely otherwise.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/01/2021 21:49

Pretty house. Very busy road though and constant traffic normally. I imagine you can hear the A21. Good for Tonbridge station though.

bettertimesarecomingnow · 27/01/2021 21:50

Oh I really like it and think it's worth the ££

LynetteScavo · 27/01/2021 21:52

The first picture is an odd choice.

It's a nice house and I imagine a good price for the area.

I think it would make a happy family home.

thriftyhen · 27/01/2021 21:54

I wouldn't buy a house on an A road, so I wouldn't even view it. It's also very squashed in between the neighbouring houses. I would also be concerned about the farmland at the back in case it could be built on. The house itself is nice though.
