Ugly bathroom ideas

What would you do to improve this bathroom (on a budget)? Paint? New cabinet handles? New taps?

My eyes just keep coming back to the brown of the cabinet and the blah mirror but just not sure what to do about it.

Thank you. I like those bathrooms. I think it's because mine are shiny.
In the other bathroom they've run out of mosaic or haven't had enough tiles cut so they've stopped short. My eye goes straight to it. Now I can't stop looking at the mirror being off size too since a pp pointed it out!

I'll definitely be painting the walls.

It's Great- I really like it. No extras or pretty bits in a bathroom ever.

I do get your point that your vanity is shiny. That’s a shame and it seems interior design wasn’t a strong point in the bathrooms. However a mirror is easy to change. Make sure it’s the full width of the vanity.

I’ve just had our cloakroom painted in DeNimes from F&B. Same colour floor as yours. I think this would work with the brown. Also get fluffy white towels and a classy blind and it’s readily improved. The brown is a relatively small part of the bathroom so make sure your eyes immediately look at something nicer. Good soap and hand cream on the vanity for example.

Change the doors! Plenty of places do doors in different colors.

I would look on 247blinds for a colorful Roman blind
Either a mirror with a frame - or try decals round the edges - it looks wrong?

Picture on the walls or a big clock - I like a clock in the bathroom

Old fashioned radio in a color from the blind

Love the shelf idea with plants and a few nice glass containers - get odd ones from a charity shop (remember those?)

Change the wall paint - pick out the background of the blind
