Came across this randomly.
I love it. I don’t know anything about the area but I’d love to live in a house like this.
A proper old fashioned house that has not been modernised to look like every other house.
Check our that bathroom !

I fell in love with a time capsule house recently - absolutely gutted that we aren’t in a position to offer as it’s absolutely perfect for us, but of course it was immediately snapped up and I’m sure will be turned into flats like the rest of the houses on the same road.

Nowhere near as grand externally but love the inside

The decor is totally out of keeping with the era of the house.

shrill · 09/12/2020 21:29

Love it and I am so happy to see I own the same (inherited) laundry basket! One of my prized possessions, for it's happy memories Grin

shallbe · 09/12/2020 21:29

A film studio should buy that!

Honeyroar · 09/12/2020 21:30

My friend had a very similar house. It had A wash room with a mangle, old aga, service call bells in all the rooms that rang in the kitchen, a maids scullery, original wooden panelling and stained glass windows. Unfortunately they had to sell it recently and the new owner had ripped everything out within days.

Ringsender2 · 09/12/2020 21:34

The bath looks like an ocean liner you could set sail in. Love it!

babychange12 · 09/12/2020 21:34

Carpets everywhere 😱 in the kitchen and is it in the bathroom too?

Viewfromtheisland · 09/12/2020 21:35

@shrill I’ve also got the same laundry basket, and the matching chair in the bedroom (also inherited)

MyUsernames · 09/12/2020 21:36

Even the pictures smell musty Confused not my cup of tea at all. It's really, really ugly Blush

Mmsnet101 · 09/12/2020 21:38

I love it! Expensive compared to similar houses near me (central Scotland) but beautiful all the same.

I hope whoever buys it doesn't dare turn it grey and soulless. That said, I can't picture living with my current furniture and decor for the rest of my days either..

DocMarteens · 09/12/2020 21:40

I wouldn't change a thing about it. Love it! 💕

Shortfeet · 09/12/2020 21:43

Just such a change from the modern trend for all houses to look exactly the same.

Never opened one of these house links and found a place I actually know 😳
Can't say the decor is my taste but it's a grand house. The area is nice too.
Hope whoever buys it doesn't change it too much ie make it "chavy" 😂 😂

helloxhristmas · 09/12/2020 21:44

That's my house!

Ok it's not but I've always wanted someone to say it on one of these threadsGrin it's beautiful.

StellaOlivetti · 09/12/2020 21:47

@FAQs

Someone will come in and make it all glossy white and grey, with tacky LED lights and destroy it, or even worse make it into flats Sad
I really really hope that doesn’t happen but I fear it might.
daisypond · 09/12/2020 21:47

It’s a lovely house. I thought it looked like Yorkshire from the first picture. I thought it would look much more dated from your into. I don’t think it’s too bad.

Starburst8 · 09/12/2020 21:49

Did anyone else notice the random kettle and sink in one of the bedroom photos? 😂

Smallgoon · 09/12/2020 21:51

@Quandaries

Is that... is that carpet in the kitchen?
in the bathroom too...
mollscroll · 09/12/2020 21:52

Love it. It could be stunning - definitely doesn’t warrant Mrs Hinsch grey and a white gloss kitchen

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 09/12/2020 21:52

Carpet in the loo! Takes me back.

daisypond · 09/12/2020 21:52

Lots of people have a sink in a bedroom. I did when I was a child. And loads of people have kettles - handy for your morning cuppa. Nothing odd about either of those.
shrill · 09/12/2020 21:52

viewfromtheisland sadly the matching chair was thrown out. I didn't like to ask for more than one of the two, thinking it would appear greedy. At least I get to use the laundry basket daily - small pleasures!

Longdistance · 09/12/2020 21:53

My issue is that it’s a semi detached. Nice brick work, lots of renovations to do, but not at that price for a semi.
Carpet in the bathroom 🤢

MonaLisaPiles · 09/12/2020 21:54

You could create a garden

That could be a spectacular house with the right faithful work done to it

Inthemuckheap · 09/12/2020 21:56

Love the blue AGA and large room sizes but that's it.
