Thank you! Very very nervous - I had no idea I wanted a house like that until I viewed it and now I can’t imagine us living anywhere else.

I’ve never felt so anxious. Tight throat, tight chest, heart palpitations 😂 I’m a mess tonight

Oh bless you @Badgerbadger22, isn't it funny how we can have such emotional reactions to houses!

I soooo want to be in our new place for Christmas but I'm just not convinced our sellers will be ready in time 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have a fortnight off over Christmas and would much rather be in the new house for that than either surrounded by boxes here or in a temp house!

Badgerbadger22 · 29/10/2020 18:59

If the offer got accepted - my next worry would be telling the vendor about the new chain.

I think they’ll be quite angry. As they wanted to move by Christmas. Definitely not happening!!

Also our searches have gone from 6-8 weeks to 8-10 weeks Sad

I’m also worried that if if the vendor couldn’t be arsed to clean the house with a basic flush and vacuum (amongst other things!!) - how can we make him take pride in the conveyancing? I.e instructing solicitors quickly, filling the forms in quickly, finding his own place to buy etc etc

So many worries!! I feel like it’s all so volatile Sad

Gone for a few days and a while new thread!
Our searches are starting to all come back, and mutterings are being made about exchange by our vendor and our buyers have said hopefully before Christmas so it's all looking positive...but time will tell. Buyers have hd survey back but we haven't heard results yet.

Thanks so much for your help @Jujuball .
It feels like a simple case of swapping paperwork in my mind so it's good to know it's far more complex than I realised.

Hopefully our solicitors have all been busy doing that today ready for tomorrow 🤞

@Maybenexttime08 - did you get an answer?!

I'm a bit scared hearing about so many of you on multiple buyers/sellers, with things having fallen through. The whole thing is so stressful!

Just joining in, still early days but recently discovered we're no. 4 in a chain of 9Shock. Never been in a chain that long before. Hope someone has some happy chain stories!

Diangled · 29/10/2020 22:15

fluffy That a long chain but I’ve heard of longer going through.

We lost our buyer yesterday again! They were unable to secure school places unfortunately. We’ve had another viewing this evening but I’m seriously losing enthusiasm for the whole thing. DH is so seriously ill that I’d like to get this sorted sooner rather than later or just resign ourselves to staying here.
Nice to read about the progress some of you are making.

Joining today ... about 3 weeks into an agreed sale (private - no estate agents)

My FTBs got their mortgage offer approved today which I was worried about so feel like it might actually be going ahead

Got to find somewhere now Shock - could move into rented if I have to but hoping will find a house to buy

NewHouseNewMe · 29/10/2020 22:32

I found you all Grin
@Diangled I'm afraid I don't know your situation but I hope your DH isn't too ill. Fingers crossed you find a new buyer really quickly.

Lurchermom · 29/10/2020 23:11

@Diangled ugh, that's so frustrating. And the last thing you need. Is the move for a more practical house or location for your DH or is it a heart move whilst he can?

Report
Maybenexttime08 · 30/10/2020 07:18

@Diangled Sorry to hear that :-(

@fourmonthstogo Yes all sorted.

The solicitor was correct and it is for the broker to deal with. TSB had given our broker the wrong information.

Question.

If we go back into lockdown, as people are whispering about, will this mean no moving?? No removal companies?

Meant to be moving into a new build at the end of November and wondering how this might affect it.

Hello, joining!
We have a BTL flat and we live in a rented house.
We put our lovely flat on the market last week at a high price and already got an offer (slightly less than the top price) which we gladly accepted yesterday. I cant believe it! I just hope that the buyers are serious (which the estate agent assure me they are). They are chain free and we are planning for completion in february.
Excited but i know from experience that buting/selling can be an emotional rollercoaster... so i am trying to not be too excited!!

Joining. Hello.

Sales agreed in August, survey done, reduction agreed, all searches done etc. I'm packed as far as I can.

Am getting nowhere getting a date. I'm really stressed because I feel a National lockdown looming and I need to move before that otherwise I think my buyer could pull out as they wanted to be in by now.

I feel like I'm stalking g my solicitor but nothing is happening.

Any suggestions?

I should add we have a small chain, FTB, us and our vendor who has already moved out in with a new partner.

@Diangled oh no this is awful news Sad would it be better for you to stay with family or rent near your DH’s family while renting out your own home? x

Renting isn’t easy at all - we definitely couldn’t afford to Sad

Telling our buyers today about our brand new extremely long chain (we don’t actually know how long it is yet though!)

They’re going to be upset with us - quite rightly.

I feel like we’ve been awful vendors Sad

SmileWe should get the keys to our new home today if all goes to plan. We started the whole lengthy process in April and I thought we'd never get to this stage it's all moved so slowly.

I hardly slept last night I was so excited. Just keeping everything crossed that there's no last minute hitches in our chain. It still doesn't feel real.

@StormyLovesOdd keeping all my fingers crossed for you. Please let us know when you are in your new home Wine

Completion day (fingers crossed) so we should be getting the keys today. I think we had our offer accepted end of June/beginning of July so although it's seemed like a long time I guess it's not too bad.

Good luck to those completing today!

@Badgerbadger22 there isn't much you can do about being in a long chain. Technically you don't have to tell your buyers anyway, just leave that to your estate agents

We should exchange today 🤞🤞🤞

How exciting that people are completing :)

@Baxdream good luck to you too Smile

So we have had to move exchange back to next week as apparently our seller's sellers are divorcing and they need a week to make a decision between two dates. The whole thing was they were chain free and this was all gonna be nice and smooth.

Why do people feel that they can just waste people's time and be so bloody airy fairy. The delay has meant two of the four dates are no longer viable options.

I have a feeling completion is gonna be moved back to December which when we made the offer was the one thing i requested not to happen (I previously moved in December and getting anything needed delivered or any workmen out for emergency repairs was a total nightmare).

We are in a lockdown in a tiny flat with both of us working from home. I want my space

Drainage guy came round and removed a stone that had lodged in one of the drains, and found the manhole cover which we hadn't been able to locate the whole 5 years we've lived here! And then going a damaged but of our down another drain. So he'll come back and repair the pipe tomorrow then submit the drainage survey, job done and buyer's mortgage lender satisfied.

As to what's going on with our underwriter... 🤷‍♀️ Is there any point pursuing an update or do we just leave them to it? Buyers have a slightly urgent situation meaning they need this all to happen asap!

Thanks roselilly and pointy, we have decided on a second viewing next week on a property I dismissed because it was a bit too rural for us. But we are going to wizz down and back in one day while dc at school.

Well done anyone completing today Star
