Yes they are, but obviously we have no way of knowing! The council say we could get it done retrospectively, but obviously it could be a massive amount of work...
It’s their problem, don’t make it yours. Go and look at the other one that’s come on the market. We’re in a similar situation (I’ve another thread explaining it) with massive extensions and no building regs. We’re pulling out. It’s a pain but no way am I taking on a property that’ll be difficult / impossible to sell onwards, and might even be a death trap. The solicitor advises that my lender might not even be willing to offer on it.

Thanks, yes I think we've spoken on it! The other house has tenants so is a no go too...not sure what to do now.

Do you think we might exchange before Christmas? Or is that wishful thinking?

To be fair - our vendor is getting the paperwork done and enquiries answered as soon as they’re requested. So, so far so good!
