And not just with DH...šŸ˜

Does anyone else find this house quite dreamy?

That is dreamy. A tad too much grey for my liking but the rooms are lovely & the garden šŸ˜

sunshinesupermum · 13/10/2020 15:08

Apart from the house being overly decorated in grey (!) and the ever present denim blue in the cloakroom, yes it is a gorgeous property but £2.5 million !!!

JoJoSM2 · 13/10/2020 15:23

I don’t think I even noticed the grey. 2.5M is a lot but it’s in London so not that crazy.

Stunning. What’s not to like..except maybe too much grey. But it wouldn’t stop me buying it (not that I have the budget!)

Mumofwho · 13/10/2020 15:29

Love it! Love the tiling in the bathroom. It’s given me ideas.

Foxy85 · 13/10/2020 15:31

Lovely. I don't mid the grey. I would expect a house that size to have a separate dining room and it's a shame you can't go straight to the garden from the kitchen or living room to the garden.

TokyoSushi · 13/10/2020 15:34

Beautiful, love it!

IrmaFayLear · 13/10/2020 15:35

Nah, too grey.

JuliaJohnston · 13/10/2020 15:36

The outside is fabulous. The inside is just the usual dreary greys without an ounce of character.
I love the garden...

lljkk · 13/10/2020 15:36

I don't like the plaid carpet but that's easily replaced.
It's too clean. I'd feel like a failure by making it messy 20 seconds after I arrived.

Eminybob · 13/10/2020 15:38

Beautiful, but I wouldn’t buy it (if I had 2.5m) as it only has one reception room.
For that money I would want a separate dining room, or a play room or an orangery of something.

52andblue · 13/10/2020 15:43

Beautiful from the outside - like a Dolls House.

Inside - not enough reception rooms for the price.
Bland decor but easily changed - the bones of it are good.

BasiliskStare · 13/10/2020 15:44

That house is lovely and big - but my dreamy house is this - lots smaller - more central London - I could never afford it in the world in space but - I just could live here www.thesteepletimes.com/opulence-splendour/larry-and-leighs-love-nest/

Viviennemary · 13/10/2020 15:46

Outside lovely. Reminds me of the houses in Pride and Prejudice. Shame they've wrecked the interior with all that grey.

JoJoSM2 · 13/10/2020 15:47

Yes, I think I’d want to extend the downstairs. A lot. It’s quite top heavy currently.

BasiliskStare, that’s a cute cottage!

IrmaFayLear · 13/10/2020 15:51

I agree with that one, basilisk. And such a reasonable price, too...

Yes, the Cheam one is not wfh-friendly - all too open plan which is soooo pre-Covid.

CoffeeInAnIV · 13/10/2020 15:54

It's very rare I love a house but that is absolutely gorgeous. I'd get rid of the football markings and most of the grey but god, that has some serious interior potential. If only!

BasiliskStare · 13/10/2020 16:16

@IrmaFayLear - yes , looked down the back of the sofa - but failed to come up with the thick end of £8m - Ah well - you win some you lose some.

sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2020 16:20

Cheam house is beautiful...but its definitely not in London!

friendlycat · 13/10/2020 16:32

Not enough downstairs in comparison to upstairs. Would want at least 3 reception rooms for the price. Hate the stair and landing carpet but easily rectified. Too much grey. Nice bathrooms and great outdoors space with nice driveway.
But yes I would get rid of the football markings as well when selling the place! Cheam is nice.

JoJoSM2 · 13/10/2020 16:37

@sleepwhenidie are you in the camp of nothing outside zone 2 being in London lol The house is London, certainly not at all central but still cycle-able to the city.

OP posts:
madcatladyforever · 13/10/2020 16:39

Not for me, too bland and neutral. I like old cottages with thatched rooves and a ton of beams and a crazy coloured cottage garden.

ComtesseDeSpair · 13/10/2020 16:39

I think they’ve removed a lot of the character by making the decor very ā€œtastefulā€, tbh. Which is a shame. It’s nice enough but if that were my budget there are plenty of places with a bit more quirk that I’d prefer to live in.

sleepwhenidie · 13/10/2020 16:49

JoJo I am probably guilty of a bit of the zone 2 thing but come on, you may be able to cycle the 15 miles into the City but any other form of transport will take you the best part of an hour...a house like that actually in London would have an extra zero on the end of the price for that very reason!

sunshinesupermum · 13/10/2020 16:55

I much prefer that house BasilikStare, for character and location but not the price!
