Doubts when house exterior not first photo on Rightmove

I’ve seen a few comments here on how it can seem a bit dodgy or off-putting if an advert doesn’t lead with a shot of the exterior of the house. Then I saw this!

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-85573399.html

I saw the house when I was out for a walk this afternoon, and it took me a bit of work to track it down on-line.

Not what I expected at all!

Wow, that's like a tardis. It looks tiny on the outside.

WiserOwl · 11/10/2020 23:21

Does the house have two front doors? It seems too big to be just one of those front doors.

felineflutter · 11/10/2020 23:25

Whenever they don't lead with a picture of the front it usually means the house is ugly. The house doesn't have any kerb appeal... but that might not bother you?

purpleme12 · 11/10/2020 23:30

It's really good inside... But no bath from the looks of it

Fatmermaid · 11/10/2020 23:37

I can see why they didn't put the front as the first picture. The front looks like a pokey little house with maybe one bedroom, but the house inside is lovely. It looks like a real bargain for a 4 bed too.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 11/10/2020 23:42

Wow, thats not far from me. Its amazing for the price! I love houses that aren't what they seem.

Fatmermaid · 11/10/2020 23:50

Yeah imagine inviting people over, it's be great meeting them at the door and they'd be thinking 'fatmermaid's house is tiny' then once you show them in... Taa-daah.
I need to get out more.

Didlum · 11/10/2020 23:56

Wow. It's gorgeous inside. I guess it's deceptive because it goes back really far

felineflutter · 11/10/2020 23:56

@Fatmermaid Grin It does look like an odd one bedroomed house!

Didlum · 11/10/2020 23:59

I'm not sure where the dividing line is between the houses as there seems to be 2 front doors under the same roof. It would probably help if i put my reading glasses on actually

SusieSusieSoo · 12/10/2020 00:00

It is a fab house x

megletthesecond · 12/10/2020 00:03

Really nice. Loads of Ikea stuff too.
I think they should put the front image first, makes it all the more impressive.

JM10 · 12/10/2020 00:03

Looking at the floor plan I think it's just the bluey/greeny door, so looks tiny from the outside

Albless · 12/10/2020 00:05

I thought it might be a tiny 2 bed.

The roof is strange, but the other front door belongs to the house next door.

It is the most Tardis-like house I’ve ever seen. If I had oodles of money I’d buy it just for the fun of seeing people’s faces when they come to visit!

purple I think the main bathroom might be downstairs, although you're right it's not very clear.

Oh, I think it has loads of kerb appeal. I just thought it would be smaller!

felineflutter · 12/10/2020 00:10

But it has two front doors side by side! That may be good feng shui?

felineflutter · 12/10/2020 00:13

Sorry just read! Grin Now I am confused! You have people entering your house to get to their house?!

HuggedTheRedwoods · 12/10/2020 00:17

I can't work it out, next doors front door is under the house roof line and from the back it looks like it's been extended into next doors garden. Has it been one house at one time, converted into two?

WhatWouldChristineCagneyDo · 12/10/2020 00:20

Interesting. I actually quite like it from the front, the back garden is utterly dismal though,

WhatWouldChristineCagneyDo · 12/10/2020 00:21

It's a very odd shape on the floorplan

Peakypolly · 12/10/2020 00:26

I think the grey door has been made into the SAM shelves. If you look at the plans the upper window is above that door.
I love it!

HuggedTheRedwoods · 12/10/2020 00:28

blimey, look at the original house, certainly a lot of work been put into it: www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=18074496&sale=20759366&country=scotland

Albless · 12/10/2020 00:29

The roof is odd. The back of the house is wider than the front of the house - going by plan and photos. So, when the roof carries on over from back to front, it ends up on top of next door’s front door, and hall presumably. You’d want to get the legality of that sorted out properly.

Wow!

You see, that’s what I was expecting - size wise at least although given the outside looked so nice I was expecting small and beautiful.
