Which colour windows (pictures)?

Ok not strictly ‘beauty’ but certainly style...

We live in a detached stone cottage in the country and currently have Farrow and Ball blue-ish green painted windows frames and front door.

We are getting the draughty old windows replaced and have a choice of two colours, green or greyish green.. Not sure if the green one is a bit bright. Thoughts?

Our house is More similar to the second photo.

You'd be better to post in the property section OP. Both look lovely. Sorry that doesn't help.

Thanks, I will try to get it moved!

I prefer the more grey one but was also going to say this should be in property!

ILoveMyMonkey · 02/10/2020 17:52

Ooh I really like the green, it's lovely.

userxx · 02/10/2020 17:52

I think grey has had its day, I love the green.

Lolalovesroses · 02/10/2020 17:53

The green for me, it's really nice.

dudsville · 02/10/2020 17:53

I prefer the one on the left.

LoveEatYoga · 02/10/2020 18:45

I think grey has had its day, I love the green.
I agree but I don't think the first one is grey
IveNameChanged2020 · 02/10/2020 18:46

I prefer the first picture - so gorgeous I'm jealous!

minipie · 02/10/2020 18:46

I find the green too bright for an older property, I’d go for greenish grey

lakeswimmer · 02/10/2020 18:50

I'd get whichever colour works best/blends with the stone. That way, it should look good with your house even when that particular shade goes out of fashion.

Feckinlego · 02/10/2020 18:59

The green reminds me of internal doors in hospitals. I'd get the grey.

WildCherryBlossom · 02/10/2020 21:44

If your house is more like the second one I think green. The greyish one might be too similar to the stone walls.

Jumbojem · 02/10/2020 22:03

The brighter green! The other colour is done to death.

ArranBound · 02/10/2020 22:08

I would go for green. Grey has been overdone lately. The green is more 'country' and looks more cheerful.

EmmaStone · 03/10/2020 00:13

First picture for me, looks much more classic and I prefer the muted look to blend in with the character property.

Tweetypietwo · 03/10/2020 07:26

The green is called 'chartwell green' my front door is this colour and it isnt bright at all.

lojoko · 03/10/2020 07:46

Chartwell green.

MrsEricBana · 03/10/2020 07:49

Both are lovely. The one on the left is safer but has been done a lot I agree. I think I might be inclined to go for safer on such a big expense as this.

MrsEricBana · 03/10/2020 07:52

If you Google Chartwell Green images some do look pretty bright. Too risky for me!

LynetteScavo · 03/10/2020 08:13

I've seen a quite q few houses with the green and I'm not that keen, so on that basis the light grey. (I'm not into grey, and have no grey walls/carpets). I have seen a couple of 1930s houses with cream and they both looked fabulous.

Nanalisa60 · 03/10/2020 08:30

I really like the light Grey

Verite1 · 03/10/2020 12:43

I think I prefer the green.

CausingChaos2 · 03/10/2020 12:56

Definitely the first photo.

markzuckerbergsgreytshirt · 03/10/2020 13:06

Both colours have been done to death around here but there's a reason for that as they look lovely. I'd just pick your favourite one against the stone of your cottage. If you want it to blend the grey if not the green?
