Which is the best option?

They are all in a similar part of the city it terms of proximity to motorways and railway stations-Which would you go for and why? One is mine and I want to know how it compares to other properties of the same sizes

Number 2 for me. It has a garage and I think it has more character as well as being cheaper than the other two. Then 3 as I like the garden but the front is a bit full on. I don’t like number one, it’s a box new build with little character and a spacious garden but again with nothing to it

Larach · 31/07/2020 16:39

OP, Streetview shows building work going on in front of your house - that might put people off if they're making decisions on viewing using Rightmove. Has the work finished?

randomsabreuse · 31/07/2020 16:39
  1. Nice sized garden, decent sized rooms. 2 feels narrow and cramped - 3 is better than 2 but pond is a big negative.

All well presented, just going on feel of size/ layout rather than personal taste.

Not mad on the plant/guitar room...

JacobReesMogadishu · 31/07/2020 16:40

Either the 1st or the 3rd one. The 2nd one looks dated and cramped.

What puts me off the first one a bit is that it seems close to the neighbours, but garden is nice, seems spacious.

House 3 is a bit more distant from the neighbours, nice garden. Not as nice inside as House 1 but easily sortable. Seems like maybe more downstairs floor space but not sure if some/one of the upstairs rooms might be a bit small so I'd need to visit.

bedface · 31/07/2020 16:43

Definitely 1. I really don't like the other two and would absolutely need to change kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories.

Roussette · 31/07/2020 16:44

Number 1 by far.

Number 2 needs major bathroom renovations and dislike that type of conservatory
Number 3 ditto the conservatory and the garden is overlooked.

I have a conservatory but it has a solid roof. Hate lean to type conservatories.

perfumeistooexpensive · 31/07/2020 16:46

Number one by a country mile. Three at a pinch, but hate the mock Tudor. The second is really dated. Needs a lot of work and arches are one of my pet hates.

FlamingoAndJohn · 31/07/2020 16:48

Number one based on layout and work that needs doing.

jeff1965 · 31/07/2020 16:49

Probably number 3. Not a fan of new builds which would rule 1 out, and not keen on the layout of 2. 3 has less curb appeal but I prefer the interior and layout.

KatherineJaneway · 31/07/2020 16:50

Number one for me.

jeff1965 · 31/07/2020 16:51

@MikeEhrmantraut mock Tudor houses are very popular around my house way!

jeff1965 · 31/07/2020 16:51

I meant around my way!

KittyMcKitty · 31/07/2020 16:55

I liked number 1 best but then saw it had walls of other people’s properties in its garden which would totally discount it for me as you would have to give them right of access to maintain their properties and it’s an obvious area for neighbour disputes to flare. Sorry!

Basillify · 31/07/2020 16:58

Number 3 for me.

Putting aside the style and decor of each house, 2 and 3 look brighter, more airy and full of light compared to 1. Pics for 1 don't capture light in the same way so it comes across as a bit dull and I love nothing more in a house than loads of natural light flooding in. It's a shame if that's just a result of an overcast photo day but it put me off. I actually stopped swiping through pics half way because I'd made my mind up which is a shame because that amazing garden is hidden away at the end. Only after I read the comments up thread, I went back to look house 1 again and the garden is great. That would be a massive bonus for me! I just didn't get that far 😔

Silverstorma21 · 31/07/2020 17:00

Bluntness- oh yes there are loads of stunning properties in the city but the ones I selected were a) on estates b)under £350,000 c) new build 4 beds. All were listed at approx the same point in time for comparison

Kitty those are the walls of our garage- our garden doesn’t have anyone else’s walls!

I just had a quick look through. I think I like the middle house best. But the lounge is a bit narrow. None of them has anything wrong at all. I didnt check to see which one was yours though I was tempted.

KittyMcKitty · 31/07/2020 17:05

Silverstorma21 maybe clarify in the ad that it’s your garage as I didn’t think it was due to position and would discuss based on that (eg wouldn’t view).

Mooserp · 31/07/2020 17:05

1 - I don't like the dining room at the front and nasty conservatory
2 - nah
3 - preferred choice

Mooserp · 31/07/2020 17:07

I think I must have mixed mine up! I thought no 1 had the mock tudor look

My choice is Vendeen Crescent

KittyMcKitty · 31/07/2020 17:08

Is the bit I’ve ringed also your garage?

If you were moving which house would you pick?
labelsaccidentalbrewing · 31/07/2020 17:10

I wouldn't want to be in St Peters because of the primary school or the area so that one is out of the question. The bedrooms in the one in Norton are too small and I'd be concerned about not getting into the nearest school and ending up at the academy converter or the next nearest one (where I would not accept a place). The one that claims to be in Whittington isn't really in Whittington so I suspect I'd have a look for a different house altogether.

If I really had to buy one then I suppose it'd be the 'Whittington' one but reluctantly.

Reader1984 · 31/07/2020 17:12
  1. But depends on location of course.
labelsaccidentalbrewing · 31/07/2020 17:13

We have catchment to the best primary and secondary in the city

I don't know about secondary but I don't agree re primary. Catchment area doesn't help get a place necessarily and the school you would want is very much in demand and one of the other ones near to you is dire - you'd have to pay me to take a place there and even then I'd have second thoughts.

MuffinHead · 31/07/2020 17:13

Number 1, the overall layout looks loads more practical. Love the garden!
