Hope it's ok to start a new thread.
Bottom of our chain should exchange on Monday and then the top will hopefully exchange a week later. I dont quite understand, something to do with a charge on our buyers house which needs to be released first.
Aiming to complete on 15th July, so hopefully not much longer.
I will never move again, and definitely not in a chain of 10!

@kerrymucklowe2000 we got our moving boxes off Facebook selling page. A lot of them are normally advertised as free to collect. You do have to pounce really quickly but on my local one they pop up at least once a week so I checked a couple of times a day. Also our friends moved recently so they passed theirs on.

@Baxdream and @Lemonylemony CONGRATULATIONS. Onwards and upwards now for you both.

Lemonylemony · 02/08/2020 17:07

@Chickaletta16 has the charge been paid? Who is it a problem for- your mortgage or legally? Can your broker or solicitor advise?

Chickaletta16 · 02/08/2020 18:43

@notheragain4 the charge hasnt been paid..the company doesnt.exist. i.dont mind paying it.but there.doesnt.seem.anyone to pay to 🤷🏽‍♀️

My solicitor has asked.me to look.into it 😂😂

notheragain4 · 02/08/2020 18:53

@Chickaletta16 oh dear I see, well the debt is passed onto whoever has bought out the other company (I assume provident financial you mention) so they will be the ones you will need to sort the charge with. We have had a nightmare trying to get in touch with our car finance company, we paid off a car over 2 months ago and have had no response to enquiries for proof of paying it off. Thankfully the mortgage company doesn't appear to have asked for proof.

Is it a problem for your lender or conveyancing? I have to admit I didn't think debt was tied to addresses any more.

Lemonylemony · 02/08/2020 20:23

Not sure it’s tied to the address as much as tied to the house as in the creditor technically owns a small portion of the house? So once you sell they’ll be paid? Surely the solicitor can hold the money for them?Hope you can get it sorted soon.

We definitely have our mortgage offer for the amount we need! Popped round to DP’s Dad’s tonight and for some reason the paperwork was posted here (it’s DP’s official address.....but correspondence address was mine and all communication has been from me..... grr sexism). But anyway, we have mortgage, yay!
Just a few solicitory wrinkles to iron out now.

notheragain4 · 02/08/2020 20:27

How can a car finance company legally get a stake in your house? Isn't the whole point that they have a stake in the car?

MummytoCSJH · 02/08/2020 20:53

As for hospitals. Well, when I went for an MRI (and this was in the height of lockdown!) I didn't have to wear one because the hospital knew that I am unable to most days. So... not quite sure what your point is there?

Chickaletta16 · 02/08/2020 21:09

@notheragain4 they.took.the car..took loan pymnts and still put a charge on my property..yes car credit were horrific Angry

Kelsoooo · 03/08/2020 14:42

@chickaletta16 im going to assume you've pulled your own credit rating to see who/what is occurring?
