I really want a top loading under mounted microwave but they seem difficult to get in this country and a quooker tap, can't do my kitchen till summer 2022 but I'm already planning

Livingoffcoffee · 18/06/2020 21:07

Oh yeah, I'd never seen that type of microwave before until a diy this week. They're super sleek

Dishwasher that lifts to counter height
Corner cupboards
USB ports
Larder cupboard with integrated spice rack
Integrated washing machine and tumble dryer
Slim flat utensils drawers
Easy clean everything

Livingoffcoffee · 18/06/2020 21:13

Ideally I'd want a proper walk in larder, but a big larder cupboard is a definite

Under floor heating

TulipsTulipsTulips · 18/06/2020 21:20

Phone and ipad charging station that hides all the leads. I hate having a pile of phones and charging leads on the kitchen counter.

OhTheRoses · 18/06/2020 21:25

Cook and kitchen maid.

stardance · 18/06/2020 21:27

Deep drawers for things like pans. Wish we had space for more.
Shallow drawers for utensils.
Integrated everything.
I wanted a dishwasher with a big shallow tray across the top for cutlery etc rather than a basket, but couldn't justify the price difference.

theseriousmoonlight · 18/06/2020 21:29

I came on to say underfloor heating!

Also, lots of surface space. I'm fed up of having to work in a tea towel size area. And somewhere easy but hidden to keep spices.

HeronLanyon · 18/06/2020 21:35

A Jade range.
A walk in larder north facing slate floored and netted recessed window.
Hands free Bin/recycling divided drawer

Dinosauraddict · 18/06/2020 21:48

I love my extra thin pull out cupboard/spice rack, I also love my built in wine racks. When we designed our kitchen a couple years ago my main priority was tonnes of storage - can't go wrong with storage solutions!

Pipandmum · 18/06/2020 21:53

Wine fridge. Those hob extraction fans that rise up from the surface. Everything integrated. A big enough cupboard for vacuum cleaner and mop etc. And a separate utility room (on the same floor as bedrooms) so no washing machine in kitchen!

LovingLola · 18/06/2020 22:01

We did ours 2 years ago
Underfloor heating
Bora induction hob with integrated extractor
Fully integrated appliances
2 eye level Neff ovens - one slide and hide, the other with microwave function
Warming drawer
Biggest sink that we could get
Bin drawer
Kitchen island with overhanging breakfast bar
Glass splashbacks
Composite worktops
My mother’s dining table and chairs from the 1960s - beautiful Danish design
More storage than we know what to do with

Khione · 18/06/2020 22:18

2 dishwashers (always one clean)
Any wall cupboards to have upwardly bifold doors.
Drawers or pullouts, no ordinary cupboards
Double sink is better than 1.5 if you have the space.
Washing machine and dryer somewhere other than kitchen. (Mine are in my en suite just off my dressing room which is perfect for me)

Smallgoon · 19/06/2020 00:14

Pleases me that a walk-in larder is considered a must-have. I have included mine in my kitchen design (with a pocket door) but was worried I'd compromised on other areas...

Livingoffcoffee · 19/06/2020 08:33

Any clever storage ideas? I'm thinking drawers/pull outs more so than regular cabinets. I'm also a big baker, so trying to decide the best way to store all my pans/trays/decoration tools/etc

Drawer units would be great for storing your baking equipment. We’re have 3 one meter wide drawer units each a shallower drawer at the top and the bottom two deeper for bigger things like pans and crockery. If you look at the drawer inserts from some of the better kitchen companies like Neptune and Davey and Alger they have inserts with compartments where you could separate all the smaller bits and pieces.

I’ve just had to google some of these things. My goodness, these are fab! Why didn’t I know a microwave drawer existed!

Could you elaborate on the coffee station please?

Sunisshining12 · 19/06/2020 11:31

Bin drawers - Although the ones I’ve seen are quite small & have annoying flimsy lids on?

Livingoffcoffee · 19/06/2020 13:04

@Sunisshining12 I'm a bit of a coffee snob with my pour over Chemex, but it means I have lots of "bits" (carafe, grinder, kettle, filters, beans) plus mugs - so want to make sure I have some specific place for it all. Will probably just mean making sure there's a shelf the right height in the larder cabinet. But in my dream it would be something like this:

Dream kitchen must haves

I would love a proving drawer as I make lots of bread and a dedicated storage space for my giant spice collection. I would love an island with the stove and sink built in but I would need a raised oven full stop as I can't bend anymore due to my arthritis.

A filtered tap as my plants are divas and can only have rainwater or filtered 🤣

Livingoffcoffee · 19/06/2020 17:08

A proving drawer! Why didn't I think of that @BarbedBloom! Not sure DH would want to give up storage space for it...but he does enjoy the bread...

A massive american fridge freezer!!!

LovingLola · 19/06/2020 18:22

My Neff oven has a proving function
It works really well
