What on earth is going on with this house?

This house is a bit bizarre to begin with.... but picture 14... wtf is that? A toy gravel pit viewing window perhaps? Clearly just what every house needs

Really odd. Only time I’ve seen a glass floor like that is to show off an ancient well. But it looks like four breeze blocks and a heap of small old toys!

AlexaAmbidextra · 26/01/2020 02:58

What on earth is it? The price though! I had a friend who bought an identical house in the same road in about 1970. I remember she paid £6200 and was worried they wouldn’t afford the mortgage. 😂

BiarritzCrackers · 26/01/2020 03:05

How strange. And directly next to the front door, so you kind of walk over it. I'd view it just out of curiosity!

Very ... unusual.... taste, but five loos is something I heartily approve of.

beyoncessweatband · 26/01/2020 03:42

Looks like some sort of worship pit. I can see what looks like Hindu statues in there. The house has some redeeming features but generally is hideous all round.

custardbear · 26/01/2020 04:20

Seen something similar at a bar but not really something I'd have in my house!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 26/01/2020 04:38

I agree that it looks like something religious. Odd to have a photo of it but then not to mention it in the details.

It's a very ugly house. I don't know the area but it also seems quite expensive.

@BiarritzCrackers and most of them with an inbuilt douche Shock

The lounge feels like a waiting room to me. There's something very strange about it as a house.

My DH is quite taken by the giant watch coffee table Confused

Low maintenance rear garden 😂

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 26/01/2020 08:08

what's with all the screens at the end of the bed? do people do this?

Gotthetshirt23 · 26/01/2020 08:32

@TheUnquestionedAnswer wardrobe doors ?

Frenchw1fe · 26/01/2020 08:38

@BiarritzCrackers cleaning five toilets would soon get tedious imo.

FredaFrogspawn · 26/01/2020 08:42

A more dramatic entry into a residence can also be brought in by incorporating a glass floor at the entrance where the glass covers an enchanting water body with marine life. A walk over this glass floor overlooking the live elements beneath can be truly rejuvenating. If marine life is not desired, the space could also house pebbles or art pieces to lend charm.

This sort of idea maybe?

Having lived in ME for the past 7 years, a bum hose (as we call them) will be a feature in any bathroom we may have in the UK. Much more pleasant that just using toilet paper. Very very common in Asia.

FredaFrogspawn · 26/01/2020 09:08

They’re such a good idea. I don’t know why we haven’t adopted them as a standard bathroom feature in the U.K.

misspiggy19 · 26/01/2020 09:10

Tiled flooring everywhere- no thanks!

BruceAndNosh · 26/01/2020 09:15

"Low Maintenance garden" means haven't touched it in years

My mother would refer to that hose as All Fur Coat and No Knickers.

FredaFrogspawn · 26/01/2020 09:21

That’s weird. They’re standard fixings in millions of homes in India and the Middle East.

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/01/2020 09:26

It mentions 6 bedrooms but there's only photos of 3 of them.

MaxPaddyandHarry · 26/01/2020 09:27

The garden is a big disappointment. At that price you would think they would have done it up a bit.

DerbyshireGirly · 26/01/2020 09:30

The black leather sofas and huge floor lamp give it a lovely "porn" look Blush

loutypips · 26/01/2020 09:45

Apart from the pit the house is quite normal. As for the bum hoses on the loos, it's common for Asian houses to have these, and it's in an area that is predominantly Asian.

velocitygirl7 · 26/01/2020 10:46

One of the bedrooms look like it's some sort of porn business hub Confused The desk placed opposite the bed is just weird!

JumpingOnTheBed · 26/01/2020 11:21

Oh my! The Agent also needs to stop using all those capital letters in the description 🙈

GreyGardens88 · 26/01/2020 12:27

Looks like a normal shitty north London suburban house
